I am researching the following family that lived in Kansas from about 1882/3 to 1894. Some of them went to Oklahoma in 1894, some probably stayed, and some returned to KS after about 1900. Before going to Kansas, Orson lived in Yorkshire, New York from 1837 until after 1860 sometime. He was the son of Caleb Turner and Polly Paddock. Caleb was born in 1800 in Westfield Mass. The son of William Turner, born in Conn, and Lucy Phelps, born in Mass. Orson A. Turner, born 1837 in New York (sometimes used name "Washington" Sarilda Jane Anderson, born 1865 in Indiana (sometimes used Rilla or Cerrilda) (Sarilda was the daughter of Harry Anderson and Rachel.) Married 1865 in Champaign County, Illinois Children: Silas H. Turner, 1866 married Carrie A. (probably in Kansas) and had Fay Wallace, 1889 in Kansas, and Nena, 1899 in Oklahoma. Census information states they had 5 children, but only two were living. Silas and Carrie (and kids) returned to Kansas and were in Scott and Barton Counties in 1910 and 1920 respectively. Silas may have died around Scott City in 1949. Fay has a draft registration card from Scott City, Kansas. Ella J. Turner, born in Illinois in 1868. Charles Turner, born in Illinois in 1869 Nettie Turner, born in Illinois in 1870 Delia Turner, born in Illinois about 1871 Orson Oliver, born in Illinois 1877 (had a twin named John who died before leaving Illinois) JOSEPH GLENN TURNER, March 1883 in Kansas *Orson, wife, Joseph and Orson went to Woods County, OK in 1894. Silas and wife Carrie went as well. By 1910, Silas and Carrie are back in KS. Orson, wife, Joseph and Orson went to Springfield, Missouri. I have no further information on the kids. I am trying to figure out where in Kanas Joseph Glenn may have been born and also marriage records on the other kids (except Orson). Thanks. Michelle, KCMO
