    3. This Turner Family book has made many of us "sit up and take notice." Thanks, Donnie Hamilton. My "brick wall" is only 4 generations back: Francis Marion TURNER, listed in 1850 Census in Chariton Co., MO; his birth listed as ~1825, TN; his father born VA; his mother born SC. (Marion) TURNER married Patsy A. HARRIS Smith in Chariton Co., 1848. The 1850 Census shows his (F.M.) wife's name as Alice, age 25,b. IN, and a daughter Alice, age 2, b. MO. The 1870 Census lists his wife as Patsy A.(age 46, b. IN) a son, Robert, age 17, b. MO and a daughter Mary M., age 8, b. MO. He remained in Chariton Co. through 1880 Census, but was no longer there in 1900. His only son, Robert W. TURNER, moved with his son, William F. TURNER, and their families to Delaware Co., IT. My grandfather, James Elvert TURNER, was born there in 1899. I would be extremely grateful if you can help me find this ancestor's parents or siblings. There are more TURNERS in Tenn. than anywhere else on earth, I think. Without a better clue, I've only been monitoring this list and occasionally checking out county lists for TN. The only other clue is that my grandfather once told my dad that his family were "Dirty" Dutch. Is that a negative euphemism for Black Dutch? Again, Thanks, Bobbie TURNER Beasley bebe@simplynet.net -----Original Message----- From: AJRFH3@aol.com <AJRFH3@aol.com> To: TURNER-L@rootsweb.com <TURNER-L@rootsweb.com> Date: Saturday, October 30, 1999 11:53 AM Subject: [TURNER] Re: TURNER-D Digest V99 #186 To Donnie Hamilton Thanks Donnie for your offer to do looh-ups. Does your book: "A History of the Turner Family " by any chance have any ancestors listed of Larkin Turner b.1770 in VA , or any info on him and/or his family? Thanks for any help.
