Recent posts have involved my ancestor Asa Turner and his wife Rhoda (Hill) Turner. Information has them buried in Adair County Kentucky. Asa and his wife I believe died quite young and left several small children. Some of the children, including my grandfather, are found scattered with seemingly unrelated families in Illinois in the 1860 census. Does anyone out there have any information about what happened to them. I find it odd that they were living in Illinois and were buried in Kentucky. Perhaps they died during a trip back to see family. I believe they died in approximately 1858 or 1859. It seems unusual they would have gone that distance and not taken the young children (2 under five years of age) then again perhaps not considering the hard travel of the time. The family lore continues that Asa's mother Nancy Tucker Turner went to tend to these children after Asa and Rhoda's death and herself died in route to Illinois. If anyone out there can shed some light on this it would be greatly appreciated. Dave Erickson
