I am looking for any information on William Thomas Turner (possibly Thomas Turner), before 1825. He was b. on May 14, 1804, in Edgefield, SC. He married Melvina (Lavina) Elliott in May, 1825. She was b. in 1800?. Possibly in NC or SC. I have records showing her born in either one of those two states. I can't find any information on her. I have everything on my g-g-g-grandparents after 1825, when they moved to McMinnville, TN. Thomas died Sept. 3, 1875 and Melvina died Mar. 24,1876. Both are buied in the Smyrna Cemetery, McMinnville, TN. Their 8 children, Henry (my g-g-grandfather), Martha Carolina, Andrew J., John Jefferson, William Thomas Jr., Ozias (Dent). Margaret, and Ellenza were born in TN. I have been looking for Thomas' parents and any generation before them. One record I have, has John Turner as Thomas' father. A new found cousin thinks John's younger brother, William Turner, is his father. I would like to find a connection between either one. If not, I would like to find out who Thomas' parents were. John was b. on April 12, 1765. William was b. on May 1, 1775. Both were born in Rowan, NC. Their parents were William and Rhoda (Dent) Turner, from Charles Co., MD, but lived in Rowan, NC with their children. Does anyone know of any connection between these Turners and my Thomas Turner?
