Nancy, Just one more thought about Pauline Fake's book. I have studied several books on the history of the Eastern Shore. Recently, I came across the following one, which seems to be well done: Torrence, Clayton, 1884-1953. Old Somerset on the eastern shore of Maryland; a study in foundations and founders. With a foreword by J. Millard Tawes. Baltimore, Regional Pub. Co., 1966. xvi, 583 p. 24 cm. First published in 1935. All have one thing in common: there is no mention of William Turner, Presbyterian minister. Clayton Torrece's book devotes 61 pages to the "Children of the Covenant." He mentions the following ministers: Francis Makemie, William Traile, Samuel Davis, Thomas Wilson, John Hampton, George McNish, William Stewart, Patrick Glasgow, John Clement(s), Henry Hunter, Hugh Stevenson, Charles Tennent and John Rogers. I think that William Turner was probably NOT a minister. He might have been a member of the flock or even an elder, but that was all. Phil Turner
