Phillip, I have the book you just spoke of entitled "Traditional Ancestors of James Turner (1758-1828)" and am a member of a portion of that Turner family group and am sorry to say it has HUGE problems. The first, but not only one, is the fact that James Turner b 1758 d 1828 Morgan Co. Ga, whose children are listed in his will and in the book has NOT been proven to be a descendant of the William Turner family of Snow Hill Maryland who was the minister of the Scottish Sect. It gets worse from there, but I just wanted you to know that. I have spent soooooo much time on this and since Mrs. Fake died in 1978, and placed some copies in a few libraries, there is no way to "make it go away." If you have any interest in those particular lines, there are those of us working on both parts, the real descendants of the William of MD group and those of us who are related to James Turner b 1758. I posted the first part of the book to this list a couple of years ago and it is in the Turner-L archives at rootsweb. The posting is reproduced below: ============================================================ Date: Thu, 17 Jul 1997 12:14:54 -0500 From: Nancy<bilgro@felix.teclink.net > To: TURNER-L@rootsweb.com Message-Id: <199707171714.MAA23041@felix.teclink.net> Subject: Turner,William b 1645 Sct.>MD 1680>desc.GA 1733 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Turner, William b 1645 Sct.>MD 1680>descendants>GA 1733 This information was sent to me by an early researcher: >In the files of the Genelolgical Society of Pennsylvania there is supposed to be the following: > >William Turner, a minister of the Kirk of Scotland was born in Aberdienshire >Scotland in 1645.
