Nancy, Thanks for setting the record straight. I agree with you that you simply cannot take information from secondary sources "on faith." If at all possible, you have to go to the primary sources to confirm what was said. Having said that, primary sources are often missing due to fire, flood or war. Many of our ancestors were so thoughtless as to leave very little in the way of a written record of their lives. For these reasons, oral history and family tradition are often the only sources available. I was aware that Pauline Fake's book had some factual errors, but I did not know their extent. I am retiring in about a month. Then I am going to drive to the Eastern Shore and check the libraries and court houses for information on those elusive Turners. I'll post a report on what I find when I get back. Hope you can wait until then. Phil Turner
