Hello, I am searching for information regarding my mother's family. To date, this is all that I have: The parents of Janet Eva BANEY KROPAT were Robert Lawrence BANEY and Annie Elizabeth OVERSBY BANEY. Robert Lawrence BANEY was born in Rossiter, Pennsylvania on May 24, 1906. He lived in South Philipsburg, Pennsylvania for most of his life. His family lived in the Centre and Clearfield County area for many decades. His parents were Theodore BANEY, born 1868, and Eva M. TURNER, born 1875. Theodore and Eva BANEY had several other children: Donald, Samuel*, Clarence and Mahlon*. In 1920, Theodore and Eva BANEY lived in Centre County (South Philipsburg Borough). The 1920 census listed Atabell, their granddaughter, who was about 9 months old at the time. Though I do not have this next information proven, apparently the parents of Theodore BANEY were William BANEY, born ca. 1845, and Hannah E. BANEY (maiden name unknown), born ca. 1846. They had, in addition to Theodore BANEY, John (born 1871), Harry and Anne (born 1875), who were twins. They lived in Centre County (Boggs Twp), Pennsylvania in 1870 and 1880. The parents of Eva M. TURNER were Vance TURNER, born 1853, and Mattie TURNER (maiden name unknown), born 1854. *Samuel and Mahlon BANEY may have changed their surname to BAINEY as a result of a family disagreement.
