I finally made a connection on my gg-grandfather Richard C. Turner. He was born in Cleveland Co., NC about 1846. His father was Nelson Turner who was born about 1808 in Rutherford Co., NC. I've looked at the Rutherford Co. census records for 1810 and 1800 and suspect that either Matthias or Samuel Turner, Jr. might be his father. Their father was Samuel Turner, Sr. Does anyone have records of any of these people that might indicate if Nelson was connected to them? Steve J.
