Thanks to Barbara Ware, I have learned my great-grandfather's name: Monroe TURNER, born between 1855-1890. Monroe married Maggie HENDERSON and they had Alcus Alvin TURNER in Pensacola, FL in 1907. Alcus was in the army during WW2 and later lived in Lakeland, Polk Co., FL. He worked as a meat cutter for Publix Markets in Lakeland, Alcus married: 1. Blondie Mae FORD in North Carolina about 1930. In Kings MT, NC, they had twin boys, Alvin Alcus, Jr. (not sure why he was a "junior" when his first and middle names were the reverse of his father's), and Alton, born dead. The twins each had one green eye and one blue. Having seen my father's (Alvin's) eyes a million times (+/- 100,000) or so, I can verify that to be true for him. Alcus married: 2. Someone and they had Several Others. Alcus married: 3. Hester and they had No One. Alcus died 1958 during a visit to Tampa, FL. Any information on Monroe Turner, Maggie Henderson, or Alcus Turner will be gladly exchanged where possible and truly appreciated.
