In looking through the book Old Homes of Hanover County Virginia, no author I found the following Turners p. 13 - California or Laurel Hill ...The earliest proven owner was Thomas Turner whose will was probated in 1842... I devise my farm and plantation upon which I now reside to my nephew Henry M. Turner...Henry was living there in 1850 with wife Ann Maria and had a daughter Mary E. Turner who married Russell J. Dickerson. In 1860 Henry coveyed to Dickerson. In 1886, dickerson has died and his widow divided the property between John B. Dickerson, son and his wife Ann Bell (Ladd) and Ada B. Dickerson Taliaferro and her husband Thomas A. Taliaferro. p. 18 Eastern View earliest owner was 1809, James Power Webb, at his death land went to Richard G. Smith who lived for nearly 30 years there. He died in 1853. The next owner was Thomas G. Turner who married Margaret A. Via, daughter of Gilson Via. - were living there during the Civil War. p. 34 In 1682 David Crafford patented 1,2216 acrees adjoining the lands of Sir Phillip Honywood, Moses Davies, Thomas Glass, and James Turner.
