    3. I am not advocating " a lot of different lists" - just two. One for the U.S.A. which is currently responsible for virtually all of the postings (an then for enquiries relating solely to persons born in the U.S.) and which are of no interest to me, and another for the rest of the world. Those in the U.S. who wish to go back beyond their earlies U.S. ancestor would have to subscribe to two lists, but surely that is not a great burden, especially given the scarce number of non U.S. postings. A separate list mike actually get TURNER people from outside the U.S. to subscribe and take more interest. I subscribe to three U.K. lists dealing with Yorkshire and one dealing with Essex and do not find that a great burden, especially as I know theat postings on that list will be of interest to me. In about three months or more of subscribing to the TURNER list I have only encountered les than a handful of postings which were not dealing solely with the USA. I notice that the protests against two lists are almost all coming from the U.S. How many of those are researching outside the U.S. and, if they are, would they really find it a burden to subscribe to a second list which would result in very few postings at present, but which might tncourage others to join and thus increase their chances of getting valuable information? Another point is also that it would make searching the archives for new members much easier. Given that there are a number of place names common to both the U.S. and U.K. For example, when I search "Ripon" I get lots of old postings, but all relating to Ripon in the States and not in the U.K. The same appies to Essex and Middlesex.
