Still searching for any information on my paternal grandmother Bessie TURNER, especially any information on her ancestors or possible siblings, and exactly where in Tennessee she was born, if indeed she really was born there. Bessie Lee TURNER b. 13-Oct-1864 Tennessee d. 23-Nov-1941 Abilene, TX Records show that she and my grandfather, Thomas A. Price, were married on 19-Sep-1883. Various records list several middle initials for Bessie, but a very helpful fellow researcher, who found her marriage records in Sumner Co., TN, reported that her name was shown as Bessy, and her middle name was Lee. Have also searched for Bessie and Elizabeth with no results. They moved to Abilene, TX on 24-Dec-1894. Thomas' Census listing shows my grandmother, Bessie, to have been born in Tennessee, and her tombstone confirmed the vital dates. Her death certificate did not show the first name of either of her parents, only that her mother's maiden name was TRIBUE. Her obituary gave no other information not already known, and shown here. At long last I now have information on Thomas back to the 1500s in Wales, but can't get over that well known brick wall on finding any useful information about Bessie, her parents or siblings.
