Torrey's New England Marriages Prior to 1700 has the following entry: Godfrey, Richard ( -1691) and 1/wf? __?__ (perhaps Jane __?__) dau. John; b 1654, b 1651; Taunton Interpret this to mean the first child was born in 1654 or 1651 and the family lived in Taunton. A third supplement was published in 2003 but no corrections are further information is there for this couple. Thanks for the response. It was Henry Benjamin Turner b. 1803 NC. He died in Gainesville, Alachua Co. FL c. 1858. I am looking for the parents of this person who was my ggg-grandfather. As history tells us, our ancestors migrated often. At this moment, I am at a point of "taking great leaps of faith" and "shots in the dark". Nora, Our Turner line in the US started with Robert (the shoemaker, not the other Robert) who came over on the Blessing in 1635 and settled in Boston. Robert had 2 sons who lived, John & Habakkuk. John2 had one son: John3 who (lived in the house of 7 gables) and had 3 sons born in Salem: John jr a captain in Salem, Robert & Habakkuk. Habakkuk2 had only one son who had issue: Robert who moved to CT where all of his children were born.. There were a number of Turners in the Boston area. I can't find a William Henry Turner in our line Blessings, Joanne ************************************** AOL now offers free email to everyone. Is there any one searching for TURNER'S in or around the Boston area? My WILLIAM HENRY TURNER, born in 1764. Would like to find his parents, Thanks, Nora
Hi, << 1. Searching for the name of parents for Joseph Turner and Sarah (Sally) Bunce. >> I have Turners (including a Joseph) born in Windham Co, VT. Your Joseph isn't in our direct line. We may be cousins... but not necessarily; Turner is a common name. The Joseph in our line had a cousin Joseph born in 1767 (I think in Lyme, NH) to Habakkuk Turner & Lydia Rose. I don't have anything about him except his birth (I have a lot more info on his brother Robert b in 1769 married to Hannah Porter - they stayed in Lyme NH but there is no saying that Joseph did). There was another male line which I haven't reliably been able to follow (ie Habakkuk & our John - our Joseph's father - had a brother Samuel as well as a sister Sarah - she also live in VT for a while before ending up in NY) Did your Joseph continue to live in VT? Where did his descendents live? Blessings, Joanne Turner ************************************** AOL now offers free email to everyone. Find out more about what's free from AOL at http://www.aol.com.

I'm trying to re-establish contact with Pam Smith who is a descendant of this line. She had a male Turner from this line do the test. The e-mail address I have for her is no longer working. Pam, would you please get back in contact with me so we can update the contact e-mail address for you on the kit. I've also just made contact with a descendant of Joseph Turner born 1803 who married Mary Ann Lykins and was in Warren Co., KY on the 1850 Census and then moved to IL. On the 1880 Census, he said his parents were both born in England. Gail R. Blancett, Administrator, Turner DNA Project

Evelyn, Welcome back to the world of genealogy! I have tried to reach you several times but the e-mail address I was using kep bouncing. I see that it has changed. I just now changed it to this one on the Personal Page of the DNA project so that hopefully any communication from me or others trying to reach you will go through. Will update the info on the contact for your Kit number on the ancestor list next time I have my webmaster update the info. I agree with you that I think your Jubal is the son of Richard. Wish we had a bit more hard proof. I do not think he is the Jubal son of Admire. Evelyn Alexander wrote: >HELP!!
