Frankie and anyone interested, Thank you for that very nice print-out of Turners in the 1840 TN Census! I believe that LITTLEBERRY TURNER listed there in Bedford Co. TN was my Great, Great, Great Grandpa. Does anyone on the list know more about him? Elise

They must all be related, but how? > > Robert Steinbach, E-mail: steinrich@prodigy.net WOW, I wish I knew how they were all related, too! There is a family "oral history" that my Turner ancestor was "one of six brothers that came over from England". Keeping that in mind, I am trying to put together six brothers that were born about 1735-40. Right now, I think Mathias David/Davis, Benjamin and John were three of them, but can't seem to connect them. Any ideas or help appreciated. Following are the Mathias Turners I have in my database and some notes about them: ** b.1770, m. ?? Moses, son-Moses ** b.1770, m. Molly Unknown, son of John/Rebecca of Spartanberg, d.~1816 ** b.1773, Rutherford NC, m. Margaret Nesbitt, son - Elijah ** b.1787 SC, m. Tabitha Unknown(2nd marriage??), was in Cass Co GA 1850 ** Mathias David/Davis, was in Rutherford NC in 1770 (no other info) ** Mathias Staten,b. 1823, son of John Turner/Hediah Rives. John was with Mathias/Tabitha in Cass Co. GA in 1850-my line The following notes are on Mathias' I have found in various places and I haven't sorted them all out. ** 1790 census, Pendleton Dist SC - Benjamin, Mathias, John, Nathan, Thomas ** 1800 census, Pendleton Dist SC -Bejamin, Mathias, John, Nathan, Thomas and others ** 1793-1813, John and Mathias (John's son) in various land transactions in Spartanberg SC. Mathias also listed in 1814 and, and a 'Mathias, Jr.' was recorded in 1816 (I feel like this John was a brother to the Mathias David/Davis in Pendleton, but can't find any proof) ** 1820 Hall Co GA, Mathias ** 1827 Gwinnett Co, Mathias ** 1830 DeKalb Co GA, John, Mathias, William, Elijah, Samuel, James, Stephen C. ** 1850 Cass Co GA, Mathias, John (this is definitely my John Harbinger, whose children migrated to Pope Co. AR) I appreciate any and all help in getting these Mathias Turners in their proper place and with their kinfolk. Thanks to all of the super people who have put info on this list! Please let me know if you have any ideas or theories and I'll be glad to share whatever I have that might help you. Sharon

I see they were from or at least in part were from Indiana. So are my Turners. We lived in Perry County when I was a child, but I think they lived elsewhere before I was born. They also lived in Kentucky. My g-grandfather was Albert Turner, 2 of his sons were John Benjamin Turner (my grandfather) and Leslie Turner. Albert's wife was Mary Josephine Hemphill. John Benjamin Turner's wife was Jewell Izetta Green. I have a lot on my family, but as are we all I am missing a while lot too. I would love to connect to you or any of you Turners who might recognize my names. Bessie
