I do not know which wife is the mother of the last 2 children. I know that his first wife was alive in 1797 since she signed land transfer deeds. She therefore died after 1797 and the second wife was md after that date. >From the will it appears that none of the children belong to Jane but that is unproven. I hesitate to say that the first wife lived until 1800 without proof.

They possibly had a daughter named Edna JENKINS born c1913 who married a John STYLES and until relatively recently lived at "Claremont", 36 Cotham Park, Ridland, Bristol. Is there someone living near this address who can shed some light on this little mystery, or any other decendants? THanks, Ollie Turner, New Zealand

    2. Philip A Turner
    3. For your information: Forty years ago I worked in the Gaspe Penninsula, Quebec. The cook in our field party was named Edgar Casey. He spoke hardly any English, only French. I am positive that his family name came from Ireland, but his ethnic identity when I knew him was French Canadian. People tend to take their ethnic identiy from their environment as well as from their ancestry. Phil Turner >>> "Garry Moore" <gaelic@oasisol.com> 04/21 2:03 AM >>> I don't ASSUME anything. My grandmother told me she was french canadian and was born in Toronto to french canadian parents. They all spoke french fluently. They very well could also have been irish Turner's or English Turner's. Thanks for throwing that idea my way.

    3. Hello listers, ( I'm helping IRMA) I am looking for Imfo on any of these Turner families. as being in any of these places. On 1910 Census in Nez Perce Co. Mason TWP of Idaho on page 113, they are found as follows; Census did not give relationships. Birth yrs calculated by age on census. Joseph Turner 63 born MO. abt 1847 Samantha 62 born MO abt 1848 Annie 17 " Ore. " 1893 Earl 10 " Ore " 1900 Herbert R. 15 " Ore " 1895 James 40 " MO " 1860 Relationship's below are assumptions. The James is possibly the father of the Children. It is unk if all of above Turner's were in Ore when the ch were born there. The Joseph and Samantha may also be Parents of the James so grandparents of the Children. The mother, wife of James may have died in Ore and the father joined the parents in Idaho or they may have been in Ore with James and caring for the motherless children. It is not known where in Oregon in 1890's they lived nor when they or which ones of the older Turners came there. The name of the wife is not known., or if James was the father . Assumption due to age of older Turner's. It is not known where in Mo. the Turners were born nor when they left there except after 1860 when James was born , when.?? I am trying to assist IRMA in her search so please contact her by her E Mail below. If anyone in any of these places or on the Turner surname list can help this lady please contact her by her E Mail Please. Do not contact the list as she may not be subscribed to the specific list. Your help is appreciated. THANK YOU ALL.( Maxine in Wa.) CONTACT: Name is IRMA at E Mail widget@saw.net

    3. I don't ASSUME anything. My grandmother told me she was french canadian and was born in Toronto to french canadian parents. They all spoke french fluently. They very well could also have been irish Turner's or English Turner's. We don't have enough information that gives us proof positive though and I am certainly open to options other than the french canadian theory. Finding my gt. gr. fathers first name and my gt. gr. mother's maiden name would certainly go a long way to solving this puzzle. It's very frustrating for three generations of our family to research and not be able to get those two simple answers as you can imagine. Thanks for throwing that idea my way. 2. I'm trying to figure out why you assume that your TURNERs are French Canadian. I ask this because I have TURNERs from Quebec, Canada , who are not French. There were TURNER f amilies in the Eastern Township area of Quebec ( such as Bolton, Que )who were not french. They seem to have come from VT. Just some more pieces for the puzzle <VBG>. Hope

    3. I will try once more to put my information on my french canadian Turners on this list. For some reason, it never seems to appear there. Thanks, ____________Turner married Agnes M.__________ Issue: Antoinette/Henrietta and Electa/Electra. Agnes was known as a Canadian Widow, although the Chicago City Directory does not say that. Agnes and daughters lived in Chicago at 522 Washington Blvd. in the years 1886, 1887, 1888. Agnes died 16 Dec 1888 at St. Luke's Hospital, Chicago of typhoid fever. Agnes worked for Leahy and Co. on first Franklin Ave and then it moved to 150-5th Chicago. When Agnes died the girls were placed in an orphanage and my gr. mother, Antoinette, was taken as a foster child by a couple by the name of Fred and Grace Turk, of Black Earth, Wisconsin. Antoinette was born 10 Dec 1888. So-she was 4 years and 6 days old when her world fell apart completely. Her sister was adopted several times, returned to the orphanage and finally lost track of. Our family has been trying to find out the full names of our great gr. parents for three generations now, with no success. Did Electra live to have a family? We are seeking whatever help there is out there about this. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. DeeAnn Ludden Moore
