    1. [TURNER-L] YOUNG, Jim, Warren Co., KY
    2. Hi - In searching for information about my paternal grandmother Bessie Lee TURNER, her obituary listed a surviving sister as Mrs. Jim YOUNG of Rockfield, KY, which my map shows to be in Warren County. The 1920 Kentucky Soundex files show only two possibilities in Warren County, all parties shown as having been born in Kentucky: James M. YOUNG, b. ca 1861, his wife Alice, b. ca 1862, and Jim M. YOUNG, b. ca 1864, his wife Leola, b. ca 1867. Since I haven't been able to learn anything about Bessie, I'm trying to find out as much as I can about the woman who has been listed as her sister, Mrs. Young. Does anybody have either these two Youngs in their database, if so I would sure appreciate learning the first name of their wives, and more exactly where each was born. Since my grandfather, Thomas PRICE was from Kentucky, I'm beginning to wonder if maybe Bessie was also born in Kentucky because I can't find anything about her in Tennessee. Bessie Lee TURNER b. 13-Oct-1864 Tennessee (?) d. 23-Nov-1941 Abilene, TX Married Thomas A. PRICE 19-Sep-1883 in Sumner Co., TN Her death certificate did not show the first name of either of her parents, only that her mother's maiden name was TRIBUE and her obituary gave no other information not already known, and shown here. As always, will appreciate any and all information and will be happy to share. John Price

Cousins, Please bookmark - save - the url for my homepage: http://www2.netdoor.com/~cch/ There are time when Internet connections between you and others malfunction for one reason or another, and you may not be able to get or receive posts from some locations. If this "malfunction" occurs between your ISP and RootsWeb, your list mail may be delayed. If you are ever concerned that there might be a more serious problem, check my homepage - if I hear of anything that is causing prolonged difficulty, I will post a notice there. Am always glad to hear from all of you - but if your e-mail is not making it through, I might not get your post (or be able to get one back to you), while you could still access my home page. As you have seen in the RootsWeb Review, we have new research tools for surnames, all in "clusters". They are still being installed and fine-tuned, but some can already be used. 3. Hi, Some kind person found this for us & we think it may connect with us some how. Church Street (NO number could be 119) > NAME RELATION. CONDITION. AGE. OCCUPATION. > BORN. William TURNER. Head. M. 47 > Whitesmith Bakewell > Mary " Wife M 43 Cotton Winder > Stockport > James " Son U 15 Cotton Piecer > Stockport > Henry " Son U 13 Cotton Piecer > Stockport This is from the 1851 Census ,Ashton under Lyne, Public Record Office Ref. HO 107/2233 My answer was: I feel as if they are related some how to the William TURNER that was born in 1855. And Cotton Piecer sounds like our TURNERs.This William TURNER(the one born1855) had a son born April 9, 1890 Ashton under Lyne, Lancashire County.(This William TURNER born 1890 worked in the cotton mills as a weaver)This William TURNER (born 1855) also had daughters,Elizabeth TURNER, Maria TURNER, Annie TURNER,Violet TURNER& Alice TURNER. That's the reason I picked Ashton under Lyne. We know who the (born 1855) William TURNER married & there after. Well even finding a great great uncle is something. You see this William TURNER (born 1855) we thought had a father born William TURNER that had a Iron & Tin Plate Shop established 1854.( a year before this William TURNER was born1855) The shop was in a William TURNERs name we thought when established. I thank you so much. I have printed out what you found. Always, Helen & William Turner Sent: Wednesday, June 02, 1999 4:53 AM Subject: Turner William

    3. To Turner researchers from Illinois. Last night, I found the person I believe may be my elusive Great Grandfather, Frank A. Turner, born 13 Oct 1854 in Iroquois, IL. His parents were: Clement Turner and Sarah J. Baker. Sometime between Frank's birth and his death around 1900 +/-, he or his family moved to Hickman Co., Kentucky, where he married Mary Elizabeth (Lizzy) Watts. They had 1 son, Benjamin James Arthur Turner, (my Grandfather) in 1896. They also had 3 daughters. The 1900 Census shows his wife, Lizzy, age 26 as a widow living next door to her parents in Hickman Co, KY. Lizzy had to give her children up after Frank's death. I am searching for Frank's burial site and any other information on his parents and/or siblings. Any information from anyone living in Illinois or Kentucky who has knowledge on this family line will be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Joyce Turner Watts

    3. Several years ago I located the following family in the 1860 census of Gasconade County Missouri: John Turner 42 M Farmer $200 $150 England Sarah 40 F England America 13 F England Maria 10 F England Columbus 8 M Missouri Rebecca 6 F Missouri John 4 M Missouri Josephine 2 F Missouri I was looking for the family of my great grandmother: MARIA ELIZABETH TURNER (SARAH L. WINN, THOMAS, GEORGE) was born November 02, 1843 in Unknown County, MO, and died July 16, 1932 in Pulaski County, MO. She married JAMES ALPHUS VAUGHN September 07, 1865, son of WILLIAM VAUGHAN and ARABELLA WILLIAMS. I concluded that this was not my ancestor since I had no reason to believe that she had been born in England and, further, I had her date of birth as 1843, not Abt. 1850. I recently learned from a new "net cousin" that this was indeed my ancestor, that the census information about place of birth was simply incorrect and that she had "altered" her date of birth for matrimonial purposes. The information that follows was sent to me by Pat and Layton Vaughan of Springfield, MO: Children of JOHN TURNURE and SARAH WINN are: i. JULIAN M3 TURNURE, b. 1843, ,,Mo; d. Bef. 1860. ii. Nothing is know of these > marriages but he had children from them. > > In the 1850 Wayne Co., PA census a John TURNER is shown living next door > to Isaac/Nancy. His children were: Maria, George and Milton - twins; > Victoria and Virginia, and Henry. Since the name MILTON shows up in the > children with Nancy plus twins in each family (this also carried into the > next generation), I feel this John was an earlier son of Isaac. > > Is anyone out there missing an ISAAC TURNER???? Hope to hear from some > of you out there!!!!! > > >
