To Donnie Hamilton Thanks Donnie for your offer to do looh-ups. Does your book: "A History of the Turner Family " by any chance have any ancestors listed of Larkin Turner b.1770 in VA , or any info on him and/or his family? Thanks for any help. Gus Hipp AJRFH3@AOL.COM

I have a print-out of the Turner family "Descendants of John Turner" which I found on <http:www.geocities.com/Hearland/Ranch/2298/descshad.htmt> It is 20 pages long, has all of my Turners listed somewhere. What I like most is the sources mentioned for documentation. I will search for the source and copy for documentation that I can use. Data goes from John Turner b. abt 1689 in Cornwallshire, England to Delbert Turner b. 1928. Try the site yourself and see if you can use the data. My sheets are dated July 1999 so the address might still be good and in use.
I have no idea if Wm. Roskey's A History of the Turner Family would still be available anywhere. It belonged to my uncle when he was researching our Turner line years ago... before he found out that they were Letourneux and came from Quebec... and has been sitting on my bookshelf for so long I didn't even know the name or author. Until tonight when I saw mention of a Turner history on the list and dug it out to check the name. This might help those of you who would like a copy. Copyright 1972 by American Genealogical Research Institute 20 E Street, Northwest Washignton, DC 20001 Library of Congress Catalog Card Number: 72-80743
Maybe we all need to look at the above-mentioned book. OR, have one of you folks who own a copy of it give an idea of who and how much it covers, i.e., the Index, if it has one. My curiosity is running full speed ahead! Is it still in print? When was it written? Where do we "find" this treasure? Dot Turner
I would also be interested in locating Roskey's book on the Turner family history. Thanks. Rayann Walker
Just in the last few hours I've received about 10 inquiries about Wm. Roskey's A History of the Turner Family. Many are beyond the scope of the book, so the following Table of Contents should help eliminate inquiries that I won't be able to help with: Turner Families of Virginia Thomas Turner Family of King George County Terisha & Stephen Turner Families of Albermarle County James Turner Family of Bedford County Shadrack Turner Family of Halifax County Turner Families of Maryland William Turner Family of Calvert County William Turner Family of Frederick County The Turner Family in North Carolina The Turner Family in New Jersey The Turner Family in Massachusetts Turner Families of Connecticut Nathaniel Turner Family of New Haven John Turner Family of New Haven The Turner Family in Delaware Appendixes A - Mrs. Kerenhappuch Turner, A Heroine of 1776 B- Turners in the Revolutionary War C- Turners in Andersonville Prison Donnie Hamilton Bloomsbury, NJ
I have a copy of William A. Roskey's A History of the Turner Family. Unfortunately, it is totally useless to me since our Turners were actually Letourneux, and came from Quebec. If I can do look-ups for anyone, please let me know. I may be a little slow... we're dealing with some family illness problems at the moment... but will get back to you. I have had a researcher in AL. looking for William Turner b. 1829 in NC. lived in AL in RAndolph Co. had about 5 children born there, William Thomas, George William, Elijah, John L., and Sara. He was married to Cynthia Haywood b.1822 GA. They moved to Lafayette Co., MS in early 1860's. There has got to be someone out there that can help on this line. WE have received some wrong information I feel, because some family researcher found from a Turner Book William Turner and Belinda Woodbury<Harris Turner and Jale Whiting<Phillip Turner and Judith Hatch. But in trying to prove this lineage, it seems we cannot tie them together. There was no research, just charted as lineage. HELP! Deborah Turner Dunn

I, too, am looking for Joseph Turner of Virginia, but from Halifax County, VA. Are these the same? My Joseph Turner moved into Caswell County NC in the mid to late 1770's. Am also searching for the father of Abraham Rogers Turner, who could be the son of that Joseph Turner.
