    3. In a book at the history library "Passports Issused by Governors of Georgia." It only listed the adult males in the group. I think it was around 1810 or 1811. There was a Bailey, a William or Williamson and several others listed. I can see if I can locate that information. Not sure if I saved it as it proved later to not be our Turners. There was also a Littleton Turner that came out of SC about the same time. [email protected] wrote:Where did you find the passport issued to Bailey Turner in the 1800's? 3. Yes. I have a John Turner who was killed by a slave in Williamson Co. Tn 1830. He was the son of Henry Turner d. 1809. Caswell Co., NC. He is a brother to my ancestor James Turner who migrated to Williamson Co., TN abt 1808. John was married, first to Sarah Kimbrough of Caswell Co NC .who died before 1817. I believe John had a son, John Jackson Turner. I can check this out for sure if this seems to be the one you need. 3. It is in error to say most Ga Turners came from Meshack. There was a connection made of the Turners in Wilkes/Lincoln county to the William Henry Turner, son of John H son of Meshack which was wrong. This occurred in Wilkes co where Meshack died. All the lines of Turners from Wilkes county which have been tested have been shown by DNA not to be related to the Meshack line. The book to which you probably refer made that connection. The book is excellent back to that connection. It appears the Turners from Meshack migrated Westward from GA as family units. I know nothing more about them but I do work with the Turners from Wilkes, Lincoln, Burke etc. [email protected] -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Wednesday, May 11, 2005 9:09 AM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [TURNER] Re: TURNER State call WHAT YEARS ARE YOUR TURNERS IN NC. He was the brother of Shadrack and Abednego Turner out of Caroline Co., VA. There was a book at the Library of Congress that gave several generations of his descendents. It may be also at the DAR Library. 2. The Jackson County, Alabama, Esley Turner line, so far hasn't proved to be related to Shadrack's line. We had a decendent of Esley, through his son Bailey , do a DNA test. The results showed we weren't related to any of the Turner's on the Turner DNA project. Which helps us not waste hunting time on lines that aren't related to our line. It did show we were 24/25 match to another Surname. So were're trying to find a male from another male sibling to do the DNA to see if possibly Bailey was adopted, etc or if it's Esley. -----Original Message----- From: Carol C-H <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Wed, 11 May 2005 10:30:06 -0500 Subject: Re: [TURNER] Alabama Turners My cousin's Birmingham area TURNER ggmother was Sarah E., b. 1845, VA, d/o Robert TURNER and Elizabeth Carson MCGUFFIN TURNER.
