Frank (or Francis) H. Turner born at Bristol England in 1888, emigrated to US in 1904 and served in army 1915 onward. He lived at 18 Maple Street Acton, Massachusetts, USA from the early 1950 to November 16, 1981. He died in the Roger Memorial VA Hospital in Bedford, Massachusetts on 11/16/81 aged 92. The only clue I have ever had is that she might have been a Suddoth because they helped Elizabeth settle her husband's estate. According to family legend both Robert Turner and his wife Rosannah McCarter Turner participated in the Battle of Kings Mountain in North Carolina during the Revolutionary War, he in fighting against the British and she in caring for the wounded. I visit their grave quite often but made a special point to visit today. I placed an American flag there to acknowledge and thank them for their part in the freedom we enjoy today. Adam Turner, 1743-??, b. in Pembroke, MA, was my 5th Great Grandfather. He was a GGG Grandson of Humphrey Turner of Scituate, MA. Adam Turner was a Sergeant in the Revolutionary War from 1776-1779 and credited with several enlistments. His wife was Chloa Bonney. It is probable that Chloa Frances Cole in my first post today was named for her.

Another George E. Sherwood, this one a bona fide Turner descendant, was my Great Grandfather's nephew. Born in 1902, according to his obituary this George Edward Sherwood was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a life-long resident of Manchester, N.H. and was employed by the Boston and Maine Railroad for 40 years. His wife was Lilly Clark. He died in 1976.

Born in Calais, Maine in 1836, my Great Great Grandfather George E. Sherwood was a private in Captain E. A. Burpee's Company "I" in the 19th Maine regiment during the Civil War. He died in 1881. His wife was Turner descendant Chloa Frances Cole.
