    1. Re: [TURNER] DNA Testing for Genealogy vs paternity testing
    2. lisa chatelain
    3. Be careful. I have firsthand knowledge of this. You do not, repeat do not, want to use any of those mail order clinics for any type of paternity testing. Here's the situation. Man thought a child wasn't his, did a mail order DNA test for $150, told the woman he wanted a test and she took off to another state with the child. In the meantime he found out that a lot of this paternity DNA labs do not even do a test but just take some money and print something on paper as if they did a test. Now he doesn't even know if that child is really his but doubtful since the woman took the child and ran. [email protected] wrote:I saw this email and was wondering, is there a process that does paternity testing along the same lines as the DNA testing? Just wondered as this seemed like a good idea to me. If so, I wonder how much it would cost? Seems like it would be cheaper than going to a hospital or clinic to do a paternity test. 3. Hi Lisa, Someone has probably already answered your question by now, BUT Corsicana is in Navarro County. If you go to: http://county-map.digital-topo-maps.com/texas.shtml or http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/maps/texas_map.html you can see a map of Texas counties. Trinity County is a few counties away from Navarro. There are 254 counties in Texas! 2. Hello, We share the same family name and migration patterns and I can't help but believe that we may be related somehow. I descend from Thomas Turner b.1664 and his son John b.1705, PA. Their descendents moved into VA - NC - KY - MO and Jesse Turner eventually wound up in Collin Co, TX about 1855. We only recently had a rededication ceremony for his son Milton who was a Civil War vet and my g-grandfather. Do you think that it may be possible that we connect back down the line somewhere? At any rate, good hunting and God bless. Don Turner

    3. My brick wall is Samuel Turner, born 1812 SC, arrived in TX Sept 1837. Looking for any possible clues. There was a Lemuel Walters who married a Sally Turner who lived in the same county in 1850 (Jasper Co,TX ) but that is a brick wall also, no proven links. A Drury Anglin was living in Samuel's household in 1850. There was a Madison Turner living nearby who was from Warren Co, TN. I really believe this Madison to be a possible brother of our Samuel but lacking DNA participant to verify. 3. Is Corsicana anywhere near Trintiy Co, TX? Seems like it is. That is where Samuel Turner, born 1812 SC moved to in the 1850's. It is said we had relatives in AR but not sure who they were. Joe Morris <[email protected]> wrote:I too have come to a brick wall with my Turner line. I have a George W. Turner born July 8, 1817 in Kentucky. He was married to Susan Preston. They had William T. Turner March 9, 1854, John B. Turner Jan 24, 1859, Nancy Turner Sept 25, 1861, George Jerden Turner Nov. 26, 1866 ( my grandfather ) George W. moved from Kentucky to Corsicana,Tx. Some of the kids moved back north. John B. moved to northeastern Okla., some went to Arkansas, some back to Kentucky. I have other names under George W., but nothing past them. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
