    3. Hello, I hven't posted for a long, long time. So, I thought that I would try again. Hopefully, someone will connect. If you do, or if you have questions concerning my line of Tuckers please email me at joanflatt@yahoo.com Thanks in advance for any information that you might have. Here is some of the info on our line of Tuckers: Aaron was born in Maryland circa 1768. He first appears on record in 1800 in Rowan Co. NC (living alone). He married in 1800 to Nancy HAGGINS. He petitioned for divorce from her in 1811 in Rowan Co. NC. In the petition he says that they had 2 children during the time that they lived together as man and wife and that she left him "in the company of one Michael HINKLE for the 'new countries'." The term 'new countries' is later defined as KY. In researching a bit on Nancy, it is found that her eldest son was apparently George M. HINKLE (Mormon). He was born in 1801 in Jefferson Co. KY. Aaron purchased land from William HINKLE 'of Shelby Co. KY (cut from Jefferson) in 1802. This land was in Rowan Co. NC. It was ' on the waters of Buffalo Creek' "on the waters of the Yadkin" (forks of the Yadkin). It is probable that Aaron negotiated this land deal in KY and that he married Nancy in KY (probably AFTER the 1800 census were taken). Nancy's next oldest child was William HINKLE who was born in 1803. And, apparently the one with which she was pregnant was Rebecca born in Aug of 1804 (after Nancy had left Aaron). Aaron can be found on other records in Rowan Co. until 1814. He isn't on the 1815 tax list and his next oldest child, James B. Tucker was born in KY in 1816. Aaron can be tracked by the births of his children. He finally settled in Johnson/Pulaski Co. IL. Aaron's wife at the time of his death and on IL census records was named Frances and in one instance was also called Nancy (this one was after Aaron's death). Maybe "Nancy" was a nickname for Frances?? Aaron moved to Johnson/Pulaski Co. IL in the 1830's. His home was used as a polling place for early elections. And, his home was apparently located where William Heisner later lived. Aaron had several children. And, most of them remained in the southern IL reagion. Aaron had the following children: William Anderson TUCKER---born 1813 in Rowan Co. NC. This is my line and, with the exception of a short time in 1870, when he and the other children were settling Aaron's estate etc., he moved to and lived in Reynolds Co. MO. He married Elizabeth SMITH in 1833 in Lawrence Co. AR. James B. Tucker---born 1816 in Kentucky (I don't know what county but probably Jefferson/Shelby). He patented land in Pulaski Co. IL on 28 July 1838. He first married Mary Catherine WALKER, who apparently died after the 1870 Census (in which she is listed) and before 1874 when James remarried. He next married Sarah J.T. SMITH on 5 November 1874 in Johnson Co. IL. James Children were: 1. Christopher TUCKER born in 1843 in IL 2. Andrew J. TUCKER born in 1845 in IL (served in CW) 3. Hester TUCKER born 1861 in IL Frances TUCKER----born in 1833 in Lawrence Co. AR. She married first to a man with the surname of KITCHELL. Maybe this was a brother to her sister, Malinda's, husband???? She had one son by him (that we know of). His name was James KITCHELL. She next married William J. THOMPSON. He was a blacksmith. The date and place of the marriage is unknown. William was born in OH. His death date is unknown. Fredonia TUCKER born 24 February 1859 in IL. She married a man with the surname of REESE. Henry L.W. TUCKER--- born 1838 in IL. He is described as being "incompetent" in a court document (a petition of a "friend" John CRUM to handle his affairs). His sister, Frances R. THOMOPSON petitioned the court for his estate. She described herself as a "creditor" for the estate. So, it is probable that he lived with her and her family. He never married and he died on 23 December 1896 in Creal Springs, Williamson Co. IL. If you have any information on any of the above-mentioned families, I would be most grateful. I would most definitely like to hear of any descendants of any of the above. Sincerely, Joan (Tucker) Flatt _________________________________________________________________ On the road to retirement?
