No luck yet. However, I am very interested in the postings of the past couple of days. > My mother has always said that she had Indian connections on her mother's side but never knew just how. I have traced my Tuckers back to Doddridge County, West Virginia, which was formerly a part of Virginia. Basil Tucker (born 1824) married Elizabeth Kinney who was from Greene County, Pennsylvania. Basil's name was John Basil according to some of the older family members. They also state that his father was John and believe that his father was also John. Since Elizabeth Kinney, daughter of John Kinney, was from Pennsylvania, I am wondering if my Tuckers might have been in Pennsylvania also. > Is there any one out there who might have a line on this family? Any help would be greatly appreciated. > Thanks, > Lynn > In a message dated 3/4/2004 4:15:09 PM Eastern Standard Time, > genielists@yahoo.com writes: > > Lots of people moved from the north, especially > > from PA, down the Great Valley Road into > > southwestern VA and the Carolinas in the mid- and > > late-1700s, especially as the Indians were > > subdued, lands surveyed and families grew, > > running out of good land in the north. > > > > --------------------------------- > Do you Yahoo!? > Yahoo!
