Hello, It has been a long time since I posted. But, I thought that I would ask for those who have Tuckers who were in Maryland and migrated to NC prior to 1800 to post their lineages. I am particularly interested in early Rowan, Anson, and Richmond counties in NC. Also, Surry Co. My oldest known ancestor is Aaron Tucker who was born in 1768 in Maryland. Unfortunately, I don't know what county in Maryland. He was in Rowan Co. by 1800 when he first appears on census. He would have been approximately 32 years old and that first 32 years is a mystery. After 1800, he is fairly visible. He married Nancy HAGGINS in 1800 (per his divorce petition of 1811 in Rowan Co. NC) I have no idea WHERE they were married, but I suspect that it was either KY or NC. His eldest child by Nancy was named George. George was born in Jefferson Co. KY in 1801. So, was Aaron a son of the George who was an early settler of Rowan Co.? He isn't mentioned in this George Tuckers list of children. Or were there two George Tuckers of Rowan Co. I know that the George who married Jemima Malone had a will in Bute Co. NC. Was this George in Rowan also? I look forward to comments on the Rowan Co. Tuckers. Remember that several counties were cut from OLD Rowan Co. And, Rowan was cut from Anson Co. Joan, I would be very interested in George Tucker's list of children. I have a George Tucker, who died in Wilson Co., TN. I do not know where or when he was born, or who his first wife was. I do have a list of 10 children mentioned in his will. His second wife was Priscilla Harris, the widow of Jesse Clifton. She had 8 children in this marriage, and none by George Tucker. I would like to swap information if I could help you or if you have any clue on this George Tucker. Thanks, Bill Kerr
