...No definitive..."Aha" links yet, but here are some interestingly close to approximate matches...for what they're worth... My Washington County RI Jabez2 Tucker descendants, from 1699 on, of Morris1 Tucker of Salisbury, Essex Co. MA, include the following Tucker first names and dates: Charles Winfield Tucker b. June 8, 1860; to your John Winfield Tucker b. Oct. 23 1861. (?Both named after US notable Winfield Scott?) Augustus Tucker b. 1814, son of Augustus Tucker b. 1792; to your Augustus Tucker, born August 17, 1852. Charles Henry Tucker b. Sept. 2, 1846, and George W. Tucker b. February 14, 1848, and Henry D. Tucker b. 1853, and Henry Bradford Tucker b. May 9, 1859, and Henry Tucker b. abt. 1811; to your George Henry Tucker, born May 13, 1850. Benjamin Tucker b. 1848, son of Benjamin Tucker b. 1815, and Benjamin F. Tucker b. abt. 1850, son of Benjamin F. Tucker b. March 1, 1829, and Benjamin F. Tucker b. 1846, father of Benjamin F. Tucker b. 12 October, 1868; to your Benjamin Theodore Tucker, born June 09, 1864. ...The other hints are that post-Revoluntionary War, a number of Washington County RI families migrated to Oswego Co. NY, and your Tuckers might well have been among them.... I will continue to search for any other possible links with this Jabez2 Tucker RI line...but the name which sticks out is....Augustus Tucker, as I have encountered that first name in no other place... My very best wishes, Barry Hale Browning RI Tuckers
> ...No definitive..."Aha" links yet, but here are some interestingly close to > approximate matches...for what they're worth... I think your matches are very interesting. I have given what information on I have on the Samuel Mason Tucker descendants to the Juneau Co. site. I sent in a copy of a photo of Samuel also and his wife Julia A. Delaney Tucker and son Benjamin. http://www.rootsweb.com/~wijuneau/SamuelMTucker.htm http://www.rootsweb.com/~wijuneau/Tuckerphot.html I wonder where the name Mason came from. I believe his name was Mason Samuel Tucker, listed as such on his daughter Marietta's death record. I did find a Mason Tucker listed in the LDS FHC 1880 Michigan Census, age 80, bp ME, occupation mariner, parents bp NH . I just have no connections to go on. Did the naming of children follow any pattern as I have seen listed for the English? Son, George Henry Tucker's second wife was Ruth Anna Reynolds whose father, Jabez Reynolds, was also from Rhode Island. The Reynolds family goes back to the middle 1700's. From there they went to Seneca NY which isn't that far from Oswego. It would be so great to find a connection somewhere. Thank you for your response. Karen Weiss
