Hey all, Clinton TUCKER, b. 1789 Lincoln Co NC was a Methodist Episcopal Preacher. Started out as a circuit rider in NC. Later settled in Warren Co TN with his family and continued to preach and farm according to the 1850 census. One of his sons Clinton Monroe W. TUCKER my ggrandfather was said to have made his living fishing hunting and trapping. He also served in the Civil War. It is also said he was at least half Indian. Probably Cherokee but I have been unable to find proof of this. Even though my Mother married an blond, blue eyed Irishman, Black, Black hair and eyes are still dominate. Am still searching for the 1789 Clinton's parents. Thanks for your alls time. Carol, What specific area of Warren Co were your Tuckers in? Close to the Bledsoe Co, and White Co lines? I have Tuckers very near that area and one of them was a Baptist preacher. They came from the Stokes Co NC area. Is Clinton connected to the Rev. War Vet Thomas Tucker who died in Warren Co TN abt 1837?
