Thomas Jefferson Tucker was born September 8, 1823---Jasper Co. Ga.---died June 14, 1913, Spalding Co. Ga. On August 26, 1849 in Henry co. Ga. he married Serena M. Castleberry b. 1829. Thomas enlisted in the Confederate Army in May, 1854 at McDonough, Henry Co. Ga. He served Co. H---44th Ga. Regiment. Discharged April, 1865 at Augusta, Ga. He applied for a pension in 1886 while living in Sunnyside, Spalding Co. Ga.He stated he was a farmer after the war and his wife and two daughters lived with his son.One affidavit states that he was deaf, age 81. He had remarried March 2nd, 1873 after Serena died in 1872. Married Mary ann Griffin in Spalding Co. Children by Serena: Thomas Jefferson, Jr. b. 1859-60 James M. Tucker b. 1862 Emily Glenn b. 1864-5 Elijah S. b. 1855 William F. b. 1867 All in Spalding Co. 2nd wife M.J. daughter b.1873 A.A. son b. 1876 E.M. daughter b.1880 All in Spalding Co. In 1870 census Sarah Castleberry lives with Thomas and Serena. A 24 year old Mary Ann lives in house also. Don't know if this is wife number two. Sarah is 65. Thomas father was William Tucker. He lived in Jasper Co. and on 1850 census is 70 years old. All I have on family. Hope it helps someone. Brenda Felder
