    3. Here is a "Will" that I hope helps some of my Tucker Cousins. There is a lengthy Pedigree for Captain, Robert Tucker in the Ancestral File of the Family History Library (Mormons). It goes back beyond 1473. I have not had the time to study my files and see what I have on this man to see if I can prove he is my ancestor but, many of my Tucker Cousins believe he is the father of our George. Marsha Smith-Hamilton of Kentucky new email address: MarshaHamilton@alletl.net THE WILL OF GEORGE TUCKER Will Book 3, page 153, Lunenburg County, Virginia In the name of GOD, the CREATOR, almerciful (sic), I GEORGE TUCKER the elder of Lunenburg County in sound and disposing mind and memory make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in the manner and form following; that is to say, I recommend my Soul to almighty GOD hoping to obtain mercy and salvation through the merits and mediation of my dear redeemer blessed forever, I give to my dear beloved wife, CATHERINE TUCKER the use of my Land and Plantation whereon I now live, containing two hunderd (200) acres, to be the same more or less, also my NEGROES and stock of horses, cattle, sheep and hogs, beds, furniture, tables, chairs, pewter, and all the rest of my household and plantation utensils for and during her natural life or widowhood and after her decease or marriage, then I give, devise, and bequeath the same as followeth: TO WIT: My NEGRO, NED, to be divided equally between my SONS: JOEL, LEW, and ROBERT, I give devies adn bequeath my said tract of land immediately! after the death or marriage of my said wife to be divided equally between my two (2) SONS, JOEL TUCKER and ROBERT TUCKER, to them I give and to their heirs respectively forever. I will and desire that after the death of my said WIFE, my NEGRO WOMAN, LINDA be sold and my executors or such of them as may be then acting for the best prove that can be had, and the same case of her marriage and the money arising from the sale after paying all my cash legacies the balance if any to be paid to my SON, LEW TUCKER to whom I give it and his heirs forever. I give, devise, and bequeath my NEGRO GIRL, MOLL and all her increase to my DAUGHTER, MILLY CLAY, and her heirs forever. I give, devise and bequeath my NEGRO GIRL, SUE and all her increase to my DAUGHTER, BIDDY TUCKER, and her heirs forever. I give, divise, and bequeath my NEGRO BOY, ISAAC to my SON, LEW TUCKER and his heirs forever. I give and bequeath to my SON, WILLIAM TUCKER and my DAUGHTER, FANNY COLEMAN one shilling each having provided for them already. I give, devise and bequeath unto my SONS, HENRY TUCKER, GEORGE TUCKER, AND JOSEPH TUCKER, the sum of five (5) pounds cash to be paid them after the decease or marriage of my said WIFE as before directed to them or their heirs forever and it my particular meaning and intent that in the division of land as before directed between my SONS, JOEL and ROBERT, my SON, ROBERT, have his hundred (100) Acres to include the Plantation and all the rest and residue of my estate real and personal of whatever kind to be equally divided among my five (5) YOUNGEST CHILDREN, to wit: JOEL TUCKER, LEW TUCKER, ROBERT TUCKER, MILLY CLAY AND BIDDY TUCKER, to them I give it respectively and their heirs forever. I nominate, constitute and appoint my said, WIFE, CATHERINE TUCKER to be Executrix together with my SONS, WILLIAM AND JOEL TUCKER executors on this my Last Will and Testament adn desire my estate be not appraised hereby revoking all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made. In witness whereof I have sealed, published and directed this to be my last Will and Testament the twenty fifth (25) day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and eighty, Sept 25, 1780 Signed by GEORGE TUCKER (his mark) Witnessed by WARDS HUDSON (by his mark), RICHARD INGRAM JOHN HUTSON DAVID STOKES, Jr. "I hereby ANNEX the following as CODICIL to my Last Will and Testament. The five (5) pounds by me devised my son, GEORGE, he being dead, I devise to my four (4) last children namely, OBEDIENCE, JOEL, LEW, and ROBERT to be equally divided. My NEGRO boy, Jack I give and bequeath to my three (3) SONS namely, JOEL TUCKER, LEW TUCKER, AND ROBERT TUCKER and to their heirs forever, my wife Executrix and JOEL TUCKER, Executor hereto. Signed by GEORGE TUCKER, (by his mark) Signed sealed and published in their presence this 30th day of December, 1783. Witnessed by NELSON TUCKER and WILLIAM TUCKER At a Court held for Lunenburg County this 11 day of March 1784. The within written Last Will and Testament of GEORGE TUCKER dec'd together wth a CODICIL thereto was exhibited in Court by CATHERINE TUCKER and JOEL TUCKER the executrix and executor therein named and was proven by the Oaths of the witnesses thereto. Subscribed and Ordered to be recorded and on the Motion of the said Executrix who made according to Law, certificate is granted them for obtaining Probate of the said Will in due form, they giving security whereupon them together with JOHN_____, their Security entered into and acknowledged Bond according to Law
