Gini, Your Zadock Tucker is interesting. The Levi Tucker who settled in the Guilford Co. region of Rowan Co. NC.(married Margaret "Peggy" CAUSEY) had a brother named Zadock who served in the Rev. War. This Zadock was killed at the Battle of Guilford Courthouse. Levi administered his brother, Zadock's, estate in Sussex Co. DE. There was another brother, Samuel, who also lived in Guilford Co. NC and migrated on into Christian Co. KY. It is my understanding that Samuel received this land from Zadock's war service. I think that I have read somewhere that Levi also received land for Zadock's service and indeed this may be the "western" lands referred to in his will. Hi...This is very interesting as I am related to the Samuel TUCKER who was supposedly born in Sussex Co., DE ca 1740 and died 1819 in Christian Co., KY. It is thought that Samuel and his brother Levi were in MD for a period of time before settling in Guilford Co., NC. Samuel moved to Christian Co. KY in the early 1800s and I've been told by a relative of Levi's family that Levi intended to move his family to Christian Co. KY but became ill and died before completing the move. He bought land in Christian Co. KY and it was years before his estate there was settled. Here is the information I found on Samuel and Levi Tucker's brother Zadock which gives an interesting description of Zadock: TUCKER, Zadock (Zedick). Private, Capt. Peter Jaquett's Company, enlisted on March 23, 1778, aged 20; height 5'8", brown hair, dark complexion; born in and a resident of Sussex County. Sick at Valley Forge on June 19, 1778. Private, 1st Company, 2nd Battalion, Col. Otho Holland Williams' Regiment, Southern Army of the United States, who was reported missing in action on August 16, 1780, at the Battle of Camden, but was later reported killed. [Ref: A-120, A-468, A-470, C-1076, C-1118, C-1164, T-1995]. I've always found the dark complexion interesting as my Dad was told by his oldest living relative before he died that our Tucker family was Black Dutch.
