Does anyone have any information on Isabelle Tucker Blake? She was from England and immigrated to Iowa sometime in the mid to late 1800s. My family story is that she was an "English Lady" from Sommersetshire, England; married Thomas Blake, which was not under the blessing of her parents. Isabella and Thomas set sail for USA one week after the wedding. All I know so far is that my 102 year old Grandmother was Isabella's granddaughter, adopted when Isabella's daughter was in her 30's. So I am guessing that Isabella was born around 1850s give or take 10 years. The family lost the English estate (surrounded by stone fencing) when none of Isabella's son's would spend the $500 to take the boat over to England and claim the estate. So Isabella must have been an only child or the last living child. My grandmother would be so tickled if I could tell her any information. Any help would be appreciated. [email protected]
