Hello! Recently found info to solve one more Tucker mystery. Thomas Tucker born in Hardy Co VA to Joseph Tucker abt 1784, moved to Athens Co OH, about the same time as his brothers, John H, John & David. Thomas was in Athens Co for the 1820, 1830, 1840, 1850 & 1860 census, then disappeared, supposedly moved to Illinois with his son William. Well, they did, to Wayne Co IL and the son William and step-mother Catherine Tucker (widow of Thomas) are in the 1865 IL state census, and William is in the 1870 census. Mystery that remains is, what happened to Thomas & Catherine's son Leander Tucker? He moved with them and there is a son with Catherine in the 1865 state census of the right age, but, he is not there in the 1870 federal census.... Where did Leander go? Don't think he was in the Civil War as he was with them in the state census 1865... Brad B
Did any of these Tuckers wander down to what is now W.Va. ? ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, February 01, 2002 7:39 PM Subject: [TUCKER-L] Tucker family in Athens OH & Illinois > Hello! > > Recently found info to solve one more Tucker mystery. Hello. I am a decendant of Edward Sherrod Tucker b 1777 near Appomatix Courthouse, VA and am looking for his parents and syblings. Edward took his family to Missouri and established Boone County in 1820 but I know he must have had brothers and sisters who went their seperate ways. Anything you can tell me about this part of the Tucker family would be appreciated.
