    2. Thanks so much for writing. I've been doing this for 15 yrs. I'am related to the Tucker's of New York city / B'klyn, Albany, Ireland and New Jersey. I have been trying to find out maiden names for 8 yrs now but no luck. Somehow these Tuckers were related to the Jones and Bakers. I'am not good on finding things on the computer don"t know where to go for best information. I'am getting old and family is waiting for me to finish. Ruth

    3. For all those beginners, non "computer nerds", and timid ones: Go to a site called http://www.google.com/ and practice doing searches, including "advanced" searches to narrow the results. Go to http://archiver.rootsweb.com/ or http://rootsweb.com/ to search various Rootsweb lists. The basic list names are either the surname of interest (e.g., JONES) or the 2-letter state and up-to-6-letter county name (NYWASHIN, e.g., for Washington Co. NY). Click on the HELP tab if necessary. Once you're feeling really adventurous, try www.cyndislist.com/ This is the ultimate "list of lists" for genealogy. You can't "break" your computer doing this - just jump in and try things. (Ignore commercial sites, trial memberships, etc., at least for now.) There's a wealth of information out there for the asking, some of it more reliable, some not so much, but you might be surprised at what you find! Best of luck. --- Great7772@aol.com wrote: > ... 3. Ruth, I am also following NJ TUCKERs. Would be glad to correspond with you to see if any overlaps. My family goes back to the mid/late 1700's in Morris County.
