Thank you, Louise, for your expression of sympathy. Robert Jacob Tucker, Jr. was my father. He was a wonderful man, but, after all, he was a Tucker. In response to your question about his parents, I will briefly list the information I have. Robert Jacob Tucker, Jr. (Birmingham, AL) 1917-2004) Parents: Father: Robert Jacob Tucker, Sr.; 1880-1975, born in Jefferson Co. IL Mother: Kathleen Howard Grandfather: Jacob Conrad Tucker; 1845-1916, Jefferson Co. ILL (Opdyke) Grandmother: Emily B. Foster (married to Jacob Conrad in 1880 in Jefferson Co. IL) Jacob Conrads mother might be Catherine Tucker (1817-1887). She is buried in the same cemetery plot in Opdyke IL. There is also a Nathaniel Tucker (1839-1907) buried in this plot. Nathaniel is possibly Jacob Conrads brother. Jacobs first wife (married 1871 in Jefferson Co. IL) was Martha Colburn, but I do not know if there were any children from that marriage. This is all the information I have about my Tuckers. I would appreciate information anyone might have about Southern Illinois Tuckers connected to these ancestors of mine. I will be out of town and away from a computer starting tomorrow until July 27. I will respond to any related posts at that time. I was disappointed that we are not from the same Tucker line. May God give you and your comfort in the loss of your beloved Father.
