Hi, I am wondering if anyone out there can enlighten me on the Georgia Land Lotteries and how they worked. There is an Aaron Tucker who received a land lottery in 1838 in Georgia. This was in the 17th District. Does anyone have any idea where this would have been located? And, does anyone have any information on this Aaron Tucker. His listing number was #300 and also listed beside his name was "Stricklands" and "Merriwether". Were they neighbors perhaps or co-owners? This, I am told was a Cherokee Land Lottery. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Joan _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx
Joan, Can you give me any information on these land lotteries? My Davis line is Cherokee and was in Georgia in the mid 1800's. I would love to search those records to see if I can find my line there.
