My early Tucker was Robert b abt 1770 md Sarah Sallie Smith md in Lunenburg Co., VA ...then..... When Lundenburg Co., Va was formed from Amelia Co., VA, Robert Tucker's father GEORGE's property was placed in the new county. After GEORGE TUCKER died, in 1784, ROBERT TUCKER inherited the home place along with 100 ACRES of property. He lived there with his mother until 1792 and then he sold it and moved to Halifax Co., VA. ( So his son, ANDERSON (Marsha's ancestor) was probably born in Lundenburg County) I 'm not sure if ROBERT'S MOTHER moved with him or if she died prior to that. Around 1815 ROBERT and SARAH, and their SON, ANDERSON removed from HALIFAX CO., to STOKES CO., NC. SARAH died there. between 1830 and 1840. I believe ROBERT remarried after her death to ELIZABETH ABBOTT but, there was no issue. He died in STOKES CO., NC ca 1844 Then Anderson Tucker and his wife Nancy Hawkins came to LaRue Co., KY this county was part of Hardin Co., KY at one early point and Hardin was part of Nelson Co. Ky So my Tucker line after Anderson stayed in LaRue Co and are there today ..this is where I was born. My grandfather was James Elmore Tucker Hope something connects for you. Marsha
I am looking for information about the children of Richard Tucker and Nancy Bateman. They were married on April 28, 1808 in Greenbrier County Va. I cannot find out who her parents were. Any ideas? I think she was born in probably Boutetourt County. Richard and Nancy had several children. I am looking for proof as to who those children were. I know that they were the parents of my G G G Grandfather James Erasmus Ross Tucker born about 1809. James married Emily Moles and they made their home in Kanawha County WV. Nancy and Richard lived from 1850 until their deaths in the 1870s in Kanawha County Va. They were both in their 80s when they died. I have always thought that Archibald and Andrew and James Lewis and William were their children but have recently saw something on Rootsweb saying that Archibald and Andrew and James Lewis and William were sons of James Tucker and Jinsy (?). I am told Richard was in the War of 1812 but cannot find any information about this online. Hope that someone can help me with this. Pat
Does anyone have any information about Reuben Tucker and his folks? Reuben was born about 1760 in Virginia (Maybe Prince George County). He married Lucy Daniel or Lucrece Daniel in about 1783 in probably Prince George County Virginia. Does anyone have information about his parents or a speculation as to who his parents might have been? Reuben was in the Rev War and this has helped some with his children but not his parents. Thanks Pat

Thank you....Sue Sue do you know if any of the above Tuckers were ever in Virginia? I have the strangest coincidence my g g grandfather was James Erasmus Ross Tucker, he was born in 1807/09 in Botetourt County Virginia. He was a son of Richard Tucker and Nancy Bateman who were both from Virginia. They married in Greenbrier County in 1808 April 28. I noticed you have Erasmus Ross in your Tucker family and I have always thought that both Erasmus and Ross were unusual for that time frame but when they were put together I have found it even stranger and now you have one too.
