Mary Ann I live in Scott Co Ky and have been her for over fifty years. There is only one Tucker buried in the Beards Cemetery at Davis. There is a cemetery on the Turkey foot & Davis Road called the Hinton Cemetery and I know there are some Tuckers buried there. There was at one time a W.W. Tucker who lived at Newtown but I never knew him nor do I know where he may have been buried. If you would like I can check the Hinton Cemetery and also see what I can find out about W.W. Tucker. Hello, There is a Tucker DNA Project at the familytreedna.com website. This project is specifically for genealogical definition. The project manager is Lee Tucker. The wonderful thing about the Y-DNA (male) is that it remains relatively unchanged from generation to generation for many, many generations. For specific information, you should contact Lee Tucker. He would, no doubt, be happy to fill you in on the particulars. If you opt to visit the website it is familytreedna.com and you can search in the "surname projects" link. It will give you an alphabet of links and you can find us under the "T". It has a cursory explanation of what the DNA will entail and, as I said, I am sure that Lee would be happy to supplement the information inasmuch as he is able to do so. His email address for those interested is ltucker@mindspring.com Joan --- jmtucker@aol.com wrote: > > What Tucker DNA Project are you referring to? Carol, We have discussed this particular George Tucker before, I think. At any rate, according to some information that I read somewhere (can't remember where at this time) Mr. Fullenweider/Fullenwider was a glazier who migrated to Rowan Co. NC from Frederick Co. MD. His son was pretty well-known in the iron industry in Rowan Co. To the TUCKER LIST. I am still looking for any info on Clinton TUCKER,b 1789 Lincoln Co. NC m. Rebecca Munday, Tryon Co NC where George TUCKER is listed as bondsman. Thought this info from th Catawba List would interest some on TUCKER list. Carol carolescoaching@mstar2.net(Carole Cook) Date: Sun, Jul 31, 2005, 5:40pm (CDT-1) To: CATAWBA-WEST-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [CATAWBA-WEST] Johan Georg Reel & George Tucker in household of Jacob Fullenwider, Sr. Charmaine, How do you know your ancestor Johan Georg Reel was living in the household of Jacob Fullenwider, Sr. until 1763 when he married? How do you know George Tucker was also living in the household of Jacob Fullenwider, Sr.? The reason I ask is that the name of my ancestor Michael Christman is found along with those of George Reel and George Tucker when the three of them were chain carriers when property was being surveyed on Dutch Second Creek in Rowan County, North Carolina, beginning in 1761. From court records, I know my Michael Christman was in Rowan County as early as February of 1756. In November 1756, he filed a suit against Edward Conaway concerning some land on Broad River. Cattle and horses were also involved in the suit. I believe he was the Johan Michael Christman who arrived in Philadelphia on the Ship Chesterfield 2 September 1749. I have not been able to find him in any records between 2 September 1749 and February 1756. Perhaps your information will help me solve this problem. An entry made in the notebook of one of his grandsons says Michael Christman was from Wuerttemberg, but I have not been able to determine the village from which he came. I also have not been able to determine the other persons with whom he traveled from Pennsylvania to Rowan County. Seeing your message that Johan Georg Reel and George Tucker lived in the household of Jacob Fullenwider, Sr. leads me to wonder if my Michael Christman was living there also. I have tried to find the origins of George Reel and George Tucker before they were in Rowan County, North Carolina, but I have not been successful. Whenever my Michael entered land, it was always next to that of George Tucker. The estimated date of marriage of my Michael Christman is 1762 or 1763. I think George Tucker married about 1763 also. Again, I would appreciate it if you could tell me how you know Johan Georg Reel was living in the household of Jacob Fullenwider, Sr. until 1763, when he married and that George Tucker also lived in the home of Jacob Fullenwider, Sr. Carole (Carole Irene Crismon Cook) -----Original Message----- From: NOINTELLG@aol.com [mailto:NOINTELLG@aol.com] Sent: Sunday, July 31, 2005 12:09 PM To: CATAWBA-WEST-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [CATAWBA-WEST] new to this list Looking for information on Jacob Arney I suspect you are looking at the family of Peter Arndt of Rowan, later Tryon (Lincoln) Co., NC. Although there was also an earlier settler (or a land speculator) named Peter Eary. While I haven't done any in-depth research into the family descendants of Peter Arndt, he does appear in records in connection to my Schnepp (Snapp) and Reel family, who also settled that area during the same time period. Jacob Fullenwider, Sr., also settled in that same time frame and my ancestor Johans Georg Reel was living in his household until 1763, when he married, along with another young man named George Tucker. I suspect they were bound to Jacob Fullenwider, Sr prior to the move to Rowan Co., NC about 1756, but have not been able to discover where they were prior to coming to frontier NC. You may want to look at a copy of Carolina Cradle, Settlement of the Northwest Carolina Frontier, 1747 - 1762 by Robert W. Ramsey. There are numerous references to Peter Arndt. On page 91 is this short mention on Peter Eary: "Peter Eary and Anthony Salz possessed adjoining land grants on the south fork of Crane Creek in Rowan. Nothing further is known of either, except many Earys were in Louduon County, Virginia, after 1732. (Note: Eary may not have lived in Rowan County,. He sold all the land granted him within three weeks to Fischer, Wirbel, and Michael Schmidt. Rowan Deeds, IV, 681, 701, 704." On page 58 it contains the information: "The ship "Hope" from Rotterdam, brought Hermann Arndt to Philadelphia in 1733. With him were his three sons, Peter, Michael, and Jacob, and a daughter, Anna Maria. Peter, eldest son, (twenty-one years of age), had evidently married in Europe, and his wife, Katrina, was six years his senior. On November 1, 1751, a German language newspaper in Philadelphia carried the following advertisement: Herman Arndt arrived in this country nineteen years ago from Hanau, with his three sons Peter, Michael, and Jacob and a daughter Anna Maria. His son Heinrich, a stocking-weaver, arrived this year, and he seeks the other members of the family. He is living near the Reformed Church in Philadelphia. In order to see his brother Peter, Heinrich Arndt would have been faced with a journey of more than four hundred miles, for Peter Arndt had been living in North Carolina for at least a year." p. 87-88 "Curiously, except for the grants issued to Peter Arndt, George Schmitt and Peter Schmitt, every one of the land grants and deeds obtained by the German settlers bore the date 1760, 1761, or 1762. Lorentz Schnepp, who applied for a land warrant in September 1750, was not issued a grant until December 1761." (Rowan Deeds, IV.877) Lorentz Schnepp is my ancestor. Peter Arndt is known to have had a son named Jacob (he and Conrad Arndt received grants in Rowan Co., NC in 1763). Possibly this Jacob is the father of the Peter "Arney" you are researching. I don't know who your Peter was bound too, possibly Jacob Fullenwider, the son of Jacob Fullenwider Sr. Unfortunately, I don't have any in-depth information on this particular family, but there are, no doubt, a number of researchers on this list, the rootsweb Rowan County NC list and the Lincoln County NC list who have done research on this family. I hope this is helpful to you. Charmaine Reel Ernst Carol, http://community.webtv.net/carg/MYREALWORK Whatever befalls the earth Befalls the sons of the earth. ~Chief Seattle~

The Tuckers have been a lively group online lately but no mention of my part of the family. Am wondering if anyone out there has a connection to Silas B. TUCKER b. July 27, 1800 in Tennessee and d. June 27, 1863 in Smyrna, Rutherford County, TN My records show that his parents were William TUCKER b. probably in North Carolina and Susannah HAMPTON b. in South Carolina. William & his brother, James TUCKER, lost their lives on the Natchez Trace about 1814 or 1815. Siblings of Silas TUCKER were Wiley TUCKER Emeline TUCKER Susan C. TUCKER Have information about ol' Silas from books about Rutherford County, TN but nothing of his predecessors. Harriet Darling
