I am putting together a family history and as I looked over my data (which I have collected over a long period of time) I realized I didn't catalogue my source for his children (when I first started a few years ago, I wasn't the best at this). I know I got some information from the Clay County Genealogical Society in Center Point, Indiana and from familysearch.org. When I went back to rootsweb.com and then searched via google.com, I didn't see any wills cited or anything. I was wondering if someone out here on the list did know the sources for the names of Captain Nathaniel Tuckers children. Thanks for your time and consideration. LeeAnn McNabb Cincinnati, Ohio Hello LeeAnn, I have no idea who Col. Nathaniel Tucker is. It would be helpful if you gave more information: dates and places that you know and perhaps the names of the children. Depending on his lifetime, you may find his children in the 1850 or later census records. One of many Tucker descendants

I think Rachel is the only one still living, and she has Alzheimers, so she can't help much. My mother was Sylvia (d. 1993) and she was married to John E. McWhorter (d. 1995). 1. Marey TUCKER m. Joseph STEWART
    2. Dick Stewart
    3. I believe the Yadkin early marriages cite a 1768 marriage between Joseph STEWART and Marey TUCKER. This particular Joseph STEWART is the oft listed son of Samuel STEWART and Lydia Harrison. There is a substantial genealogy about Joseph STEWART who moved to TN before 1800, but questions arise as to another marriages of Marey TUCKER and Joseph's. It will be my greatest pleasure to open a discussion with TUCKER Listers who have authoritative information on these persons. If it is more suitable, you may wish to contact me personally, puttpl@cox.net . Thanks for your interest, Dick Stewart

    3. Hello. Sorry to be so long in answering. Had computer problems. I have found a son of Benjamin Franklin Tucker, William Warren, b 1859 in Boone Co Mo. Died 1935. This listing was 4th gen. from my GGGgrandfather. My list seems to skip a generation and there is nothing in the 6th gen. that looks familiar. Does any of this look like it could be yours? It's possible your William Warren is the next gen and belonged to Benjamin Tucker. Hopes this helps. 1. I HAVE MADE SOME LINKS THAT MAY HELP SOMEONE
    2. Joan Flatt
    3. Cousins, I have been mulling over some recent information. In fact, I didn't sleep much last night because some of the connections began to fall into place and I became so excited that I couldn't sleep. I don't think this has anything to do with my own direct line, but it could. That is my hope. I recently purchased the book by Robert Dennard Tucker. In it, he doesn't dwell much on his North Carlina family. In fact, he has almost nothing on his ancestor, Benjamin Tucker's sons, John and William who went to Chatham County, North Carolina. He did enter two facts, however, taken from John's Revolutionary War Pension application that were interesting and led to some findings. John and William's brother, Henry, was Robert Dennard Tucker's direct descendant, Henry Crawford Tucker, Sr. John served in the Fourth Virginia Line in the Revolutionary War under Rogers and was at the Battle of Yorktown. Henry Crawford Tucker was also in this same unit and was at the Battle of Yorktown. Robert also cites the fact that John went from Chatham County, NC to TN. This defines which John he is, according to a history of "Flat Creek and It's People". I have this article from several years ago taken from a history of Williamson/Davidson County, TN. In this biographical piece about the William Tucker who married Rachael Dowdy, the statement is made that he was the son of an earlier William who came to the region much earlier with his brother, John. They came from the Piedmont region of NC. Also in this piece, the comment is made that John fought in the Revolution at the Battle of Yorktown. I I believe that this was probably the same John who married Keziah Brashears in Rowan Co. NC. He and Keziah had two children, a daughter named Mary who married Stephen Hayes/Haynes and a son who died at the age of about 2 years. John left Keziah in NC and went to "Fort Nashborough". John was a very colorful individual. He fought in the Indian Wars against the Warwisquikie (spelled MANY ways). He was wounded in the "Battle of the Bluffs" on his way either to or from Freeland's Station. He "married " a woman by the name of Jane/Jenny Herrod/Herod in "Fort Nashborough". As a matter of fact, theirs was one of the first marriages to be recorded there. He was also one of the signers of the "Cumberland Compact" in May of 1780. I believe that the John of Chatham was the same John above mentioned (or his son). I don't know exactly how all of this fits, but I am sure that it does. I would love to correspond with anyone from John's line or William's line. I believe that William is the same William of Flat Creek (and probably the same William as the one whose estate was divided on "Duck River". I look forward to discussion to see if we can slove these links. Joan __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo!
