    3. James, I don't have any information on your James Summerville Tucker. The only Tucker's I have are my Great grandfather whom I listed in my original post. He and his first wife Margret Lucille Clinkscales had the following children in AR. Minnie b:30 Oct 1884 Van Buren, AR Stella Lucille b:3 Apr 1886 Van Buren, AR William Reuben b:12 Feb 1888 Huntington, Sebastian, AR Coryyell C. Tucker b:12 Feb 1888 Huntington, Sebastian, AR. Clara Eunice Tucker b:9 May 1891 AR. Clinton b:9 May 1891 AR Margaret took Clara Eunice and moved to Caddo Parrish, LA. She died there 7 May 1905. We heard she married again but do not know the name of the second husband. Clara Eunce married Arch Linson and just before her father died they made contact and moved to OK. She didn't know what name they were using. She was raised by a family in LA when she married. I wish I could help you, but, I have been looking for my great grandfather's parents for about 45 years. On one census it says they were born in Scotland. My grandfather had a thick accent which could have been Scot. People used to think it was German, but, he said it wasn't. Good luck on your search. If there is anything that looks familiar to you I would be glad to share it with you. Marcia/San Martin, CA. >From: "James L. Why we do it ! The Y chromosome is passed from father to son unchanged, except for a mutation about every 500 generations. Testing the Y chromosome will provide you with a genetic finger print consisting of 12 or 25 numbers. By comparing this finger print to others with your surname, you can determine if they are related. The objectives of Surname Projects vary. Here are a few: * Identify others who are related * Prove or disprove theories regarding ancestors * Solve brick walls in your research * Determine a location for further research * Validate existing research Often a Surname Project has multiple objectives, and the objectives may even change over the life of the project. Most Surname Projects start with the objective to identify others who are related, and through out the project the other objectives are achieved simply as a result of the project. click here for more the complete story including current results or Just email me at jim@rader.org or Just pick up the phone 916-366-6833 -----Original Message----- From: MARCI PERGUIDI [mailto:rebelcat70@msn.com] Sent: Sunday, January 08, 2006 2:47 PM To: TUCKER-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [TUCKER-L] Re: William Henry Tucker/TN>AR>IT>OK I am looking for one of those dead-end Tucker also. 1. John Lewis Tucker born in 1850s in Kentucky
    2. John Lewis Tucker was born October 1852-? in Kentucky. He was married to my grandmother, Hattie, about 1888 possibly in Colorado. John Lewis Tucker died June 12, 1933 in Washington State and is buried in Bear Creek Cemetery in Snohomish County, WA. In 1885 he was living in Buena Vista, Boulder County, Colorado (Dist. 3, Page 29). This census gives his age 35 and born in Kentucky. In 1900 he is living in Precinct 34, Boulder County, Colorado (Dist. 163). In this census he is listed as 47 years old...born in October 1852 in Kentucky. In the 1910 census he is living at 33 Baltimore Street in Lead Township, Lawrence Co., South Dakota (Dist. 50, Ward 6, Dwelling 155, Family 166). This census says he was born in Kentucky but I cannot make out his age. I have been unable to locate him in the 1920 census. In 1930 he is living in 515 Willow Street, McGowan, Cowlitz, Washington (Dist 31, Page 7-A) with his 3 grandson, Cecil, Melvin and Vernon. This time his age is listed as 76 years old and born in Kentucky. His wife, Hattie, died in October 06, 1913 in Lawrence County, South Dakota. I sure would like to find him in 1920 and I sure would like to know who his folks were and if he had any siblings. Thanks, Gloria

    3. In your TUCKER research, do you have any information on the following TUCKERs?? "Julia Frances TUCKER 1847-1916 Irwinton, Wilkinson co, GA was my paternal GGrandmother. Her parents were John Robert TUCKER 1801-1884 Washington co,GA, and Mary Rutherford MATHIS 1807-1871. I have a little MATHIS info., and nothing on John Robert TUCKER. I have the marriage year as 1822 but that would mean they were married 25 years(?!) before they had Julia! Does anyone have any information on John Robert TUCKER, who his parents were parents and/or his marriage date to Mary Rutherford MATHIS? Recently found a Soundex card for the 1910 Washington co,GA Fed. Census for my Dad's brother, Lance HOLT, age 14 showing he was "enumerated with R.O. TUCKER, Tennille, GA." Also found a 1 cent postcard written in pencil to Lance postmarked "Tennille,Jul 28, 8PM, 1910, GA."(you got a lot of info on the postmarks back then!) signed "Cousin Fleta"..right now I don't know if Fleta's maiden name was CARSWELL or LINDSEY, or if she was a TUCKER by marriage. So the TUCKER family I'm looking for were still in Washington co in 1910. Does anyone have any leads/clues on this TUCKER family?" I am willing to share any information I have in return.
