    1. Montague Co. TX info and Tuckers
    2. I came across a document that I found in my records, and have no clue who sent it to me. I thought I would share it here in case someone can use it. I am not sure if the A. J. Tucker that is referred to is the one who was the son of Starling Tucker, or someone else. Perhaps one of you can piece the puzzle together and let the rest of us know. Mary D. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------ Montague county Commissioner's Court, Mary Term, 1887 P. 506 # 46 R. D. Tucker - Ordered that R. D. Tucker be allowed $10.00 for road damage and that scrp issue for same payable out of the R. V. B. fund. The Direct Index to Commissioners Minutes have entries for: F. W. Tucker for bond as const. acct. No. 1 approved for Nov. 30, 1893. Earlier Tucker entries: A. J. Tucker to fix public well, constable appointed and approved Nov. 30, 1873. R. Tucker and son had an account for a coffin on Aug. 10, 1881 R. Tucker and son had an account on April, 1884 R. Tucker paid by court $5.20 for window curtains at courthouse on April 1887 R. Tucker paid with some others for holding election at Queen's Peak on Nov. 2, 1886 F. W. Tucker - constable for Precinct 1 on Dec. 1, 1884 In the index for criminal minutes, there are entries for E. J. Tucker, Jim Tucker, and Damron Tucker. One interesting marriage: J. S. Tucker married Brenda Box on Aug.18, 1875 by Justice of the Peace J. S. Love. There was a historical account of the attack on a Box family in the Montague County history book. From the ledger/register for livestock brands and markings in Montague County: A. J. Tucker was registered on June 18, 1874 J. S. Tucker was registered on June 19, 1874

    2. Joan Flatt
    3. Hello, I am writing to encourage any male Tucker who belongs to the Amelia and/or Albemarle Co. VA Tuckers to submit a Y=DNA sample to the Tucker Project. We have a pretty good amount of participants, but thus far we don't have one from this particular group of Tuckers. For information on the Tucker Project just visit the public page at FamilyTreeDNA.com and go to our surname project page. This should direct you to the Tucker "public" page.
