    3. The following is mention of an early Tucker family in North Carolina. Hope this helps someone. The list, compiled by Mr. R. E. Wicker, of Pinehurst, was derived from the Cumberland and Moore County land grant, deed, and will books and from court minutes. The approximate location of the grant and dates of entry and last record, where known, are included. The frequently recurring date, 1793-1795, in the "Last Record" column, derived from the Court Minute Book of that year, merely indicates that these families were resident in the county at that time, subsequent records being non-existent. Most of these families continued to live in the county after that date, some until comparatively recent years Tucker Thomas Elizabeth-wife Little Crain's Cr. SE of Cameron at The mouth of Cattail (Cattle) Br. 1761 first record of this family, 1774 last record of this family.

    1. [TUCKER] Marriage of Jeffrey and Mary Tucker c.1812

    3. Rejoining the list after a break. I am trying to find the marriage of Jeffrey and Mary Tucker. I believe it to have taken place before 1816. Jeffrey was baptised in 1791 in Stour Provost, Dorset. According to the 1851 census Mary was born in Ireland. She and Jeffrey were living together with their children in 1841 and 1851 in Stour Provost. I believe Mary died in 1855 in Stour Provost. Jeffrey and Mary's eldest child, Sarah, my great great grandmother was baptised on 11th Feb 1812 at Wyke Regis, near Weymouth. I have searched in vain for J & M's marriage. I have searched the Dorset marriage index, also the Dorset and Wiltshire ones in vain. Jeffrey's occupation in 1841 is listed as shop, and in 1851 as labourer, in 1861 as an Ag Lab. What took him to the Weymouth area? How did Mary arrive in the Weymouth area from Ireland? When and where did they get married? What was Mary's maiden name? If anyone can help with any of the above, I would be most grateful.
