    3. do you have contact info for Betty Stacy? I think she is definitely related to the individuals I am looking for. The boy Chris is marrying one of my friends and he mentioned his aunt betty. SHe is also mentioned in his gramma's obit. Joan Flatt <joanflatt@yahoo.com> wrote: Kelly, I am very much aware of Aaron Russell Tucker. I have been in contact (several years ago) with his daughter. He was the son of William Riggs Tucker and Susanna Hudson/Hutson. In the 1850 census, he is listed in the household of Riggs Tucker as simply "Washington" Tucker. He was a brother to the John Tucker of Madison Co. who died in 1910. I actually have the obituary for James Gideon Tucker. This family had close ties, according to group sheets, to Lawrence County, Arkansas. Joan --- Kelly Bernal wrote: > Joan, > Do you have any hints for George Washington > Tucker in St. Francois Co. 3. Joan, Do you have any hints for George Washington Tucker in St. Francois Co. Mo circa I have the line going: Aaron Russell Tucker b. 12/30/1896 in St. Francois Co. MO his father is James G or James Gideon Tucker 1862 Madison Co. d. 1942 died St. Francois Co. MO, his fther was George Washington Tucker b. 11/21/1836 d. 3 Dec 1915 he was supposed to be born in Arkansas. One world tree at Ancestry has his father as John A tucker in Sodus Point NY, born and died there...... I question that as how did boy end up born in Arkansas and then John Tucker's dad as John Dutcher...... dates are weird.... Just wondered if you had encountered this line before and could offer and advice or hints. Thanks, Kelly Joan Flatt <joanflatt@yahoo.com> wrote: Kelly, I was the sponsor for my uncle for our line. We didn't do the MtDNA. For practical purposes, genealogically speaking, we didn't see a need to. If we were perhaps trying to prove a maternal line then that would be different and I think I could have done that swab myself. I THINK that the MtDNA is mostly for maternal lines. But, perhaps someone more knowledgeable than I can clarify this. I think that we are all defined by our X and Y chromosomes and the Y is the paternal one and the X is the maternal one. Since we are dealing in a surname that is carried by the father, we need the male (Y) DNA. If I have explained this poorly or inaccurately, I am sorry. Can someone clarify? 3. Mary: Thanks for your reply. Do you know a contact for the person with the Caswell DNA testing? Does you web have a list of the DNA by groups? Where is this at. I have communicated with Joan about the White Co. Tuckers. It has been so long that I have lost that material. I am just getting back to reseaching since I spent 94 days in the hospital this year and last. Do you have any thing of them? Thanks for the information on the Bledsoe Tuckers. This has alway been a question to me. Someone advise me that Caswell may have been from the Burke Co., NC group. I can't prove anything in NC. Alton Mary Bell <tnbells@frontiernet.net> wrote: Hi Alton, I'm glad you found this list. You need to let people know you descend from Caswell Tucker b. 07 Jan 1805 NC. Someone has already submitted DNA for that line. I used to think Caswell Tucker was related somehow to the William and Elijah Tucker who were all listed in the same neighborhood as him in the 1830 Bledsoe Co., TN census. But DNA results suggests otherwise. I have proof that both that William and Elijah were from Stokes Co., NC near the Winston-Salem area however I do not know their relation as the records of Stokes and modern day Forsyth Co did not shed any light on the parents of Elijah b. 1796. He was however, the only Tucker living in the same neighborhood as the descendants of Thomas Tucker b. 1750 MD. Various court records and deeds show him dealing with the same people as Thomas's descendants. My William descends from Thomas's daughter Eleanor. Thomas's Tucker's family was the only Tuckers there until Robert came into Stokes Co., NC much later. My William Tucker of Stokes Co. NC and Bledsoe Co did name his son Elijah b. 1832 and the Elijah b. 1796 did seem to migrate to the TN at the same time as William...? I would love for someone from Elijah Tucker b. 1796 line to submit DNA. Could Elijah have been another illegitimate son of a Thomas Tucker daughter? There was no mention of Caswell Tucker in the Stokes Co. and Forsyth Co NC records I had searched. From his location in census records in 1830 which is exactly here in TN where I live, I would try to connect to the George Tucker line of White Co., TN. The boundary line of White Co and Bledsoe Co. TN in 1830 was present day Cumberland Co. and both White Co and Bledsoe Co Tuckers were in that exact area. 3. Hi Alton, I'm glad you found this list. 1. [TUCKER] Tuckers of Rowan Co., NC, circa 1768
    2. Dick Stewart
    3. I have fresh clues as to the identity of the Joseph Stewart who married Marey Tucker in Rowan, NC in 1768. Most certainly, it was not the Joseph Stewart, s/o Samuel and Lydia (Harrison) Stewart, according to late 2005 information posted by researchers of the Dr. John and Elizabeth (Alberti) Stewart line. I believe that my ggg grandfather, Joseph Stewart (174? - 1808 SC), was the groom of Marey Tucker cited in that early Rowan marriage. Joseph and Mary Stewart's daughter, Mary (McClure) Stewart, averred that her mother was of "English descent". Joseph and Mary Stewart owned land in Newberry, SC by 1786 and their neighbors were Quakers with former ties to the Monthly Meeting in Guilford, NC., but now members of Bush river MM. I will be most pleased to receive information about Tuckers in early Rowan and Guilford counties, NC. Dick Stewart Carefree, AZ

    3. Alton, I am on the tucker@rootsweb.com list where people who have submitted TUCKER DNA can compare results. Someone from Caswell's line has submitted DNA and they have matches with others who have the line further back. You need to contact them and work back from there to find the connection. I can tell you from the DNA matches I have that the William Tucker of Bledsoe Co TN 1830 census, who I descend from, and Caswell Tucker who was near him at the same time do NOT match.
