    1. Re: [TUCKER] John Wesley Tucker 1834-1910
    2. The information is interesting..my Tucker family originated just north of this area in SW. Penn. My ggg grandfather was born in Fayette Co Pa. He named two of his sons with t he the names John and Wesley....it seams that our Tuckers were influenced by the Methodists and John Wesley. The Methodist movement was strong around the Baltimore, Maryland area and moved westward with the circuit riders...There is a Tucker United Methodist Church in SW Penn. that was started by a John Tucker. I understand that it still has an active congregation. My Tuckers seam to settle in South East Ohio.. at least John did, There was another John Tucker in the seam county near my family. I think they came fro west Virginal. I can not connect all the Tuckers who lived in Sw. Penn and Northwest West virginal. The State lines kept changing. Maryland, Virgina, and Penn. had different boundaries. during late 1700's and 1800. My ggg grand mother was born in Maryland...but she could h! ave ended up being born in virgina or Penn. It is very confusing. lol -----Original Message----- From: Sharon Sent: Saturday, June 2, 2007 5:22 PM To: TUCKER@rootsweb.com Subject: [TUCKER] John Wesley Tucker 1834-1910 Hi, I have a John Wesley Tucker born Jun 1, 1834 in Monongalia, West Virginia and died May 07, 1910 in Arbela, Harrison Township, Scotland County, Missouri. 3. Dear Joan, I think you are correct about our common ancestors. I do have John Tucker 1711-1765 married to Isabel Scott Pryor as being the son of Benjamin Tucker and Sarah Unknown. My husband's mother is a Tucker by birth so my husband is in the direct line. What does it entail being involved in a DNA project? Do you have the Tucker Family Tree available to compare family lines and data? 3. Hello Gloria While I am thinking yours "Tucker" line is a parallel branch to mine from an earlier date back in NC and the east coast none of my male adult men seem to fit into your list. However on the chance there might be a connection from way back in time I submit for comparison: James M Tucker + Anna Cave Surry Co. NC area. begot a son William Tucker 16 Feb 1813, Missouri 1813, + Nancy Dealy, begot son James Patterson Tucker 1841, + Martha Powers, begot James Andrew Tucker 1872, + Elsie Savage, and finally Archie Tucker 1906. The reason I submit these names for your comparison is they settled in Oregon and Idaho....well not Washington, but perhaps from early settlers such as the wagon train my lineage came from. Associated names in that wagon train, are Dealy, Foreign, Savage , Powers and Prine. Prinvile Oregon was settled by those from that early train. Perhaps there might be a connection back in time???
