My Tucker line was also in WV/VA. For the person who is looking for a James, I don't have one listed but I don't have much on my Tucker family. My line goes back to Achellis "Kellis" Tucker. I did find an older Achellis Tucker in the census records which I believe is my next generation back. I haven't included him, though, because I haven't been able to prove it. My Tuckers are also supposed to be descended from the Tuckaho indian tribe. I know there are many others out there that have the same story. And there's some mix up with another Tucker family in the 1880 census.. I haven't figured it all out yet. If anyone can shed some light on them, I'd be grateful. :-) I've included my line below. where was Anise born?
Hello Everyone I'm glad to have found this list. I am looking for James TUCKER. I don't have any dates on him, but he was married to Caroline WILLIAMS and they had at least one child, Anise Tucker WALKER. Anise was born 16 January 1869 and died 22 November 1944 according to her marker. Since this family is based in West Virginia (or Virginia) I am assuming this is where she was born. Of course I could be wrong, but it is a guess. My connection goes like this James-->Anise WALKER-->Lottie Walker COVERT-->Orlando Covert-->Orlando L. Covert-->Brenda Covert GREEN-->Lyndsey Thanks for your help. Lyndsey Green Gattie __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? New and Improved Yahoo! I recently posted how to create *.PDF files in FTM ver 11. The question is "Do I need the FTM printer in the Start-Settings-Family Tree Maker Printer?" This is not really a physical printer. If you RIGHT click on the printer and go to preferences, you will see that it converts the FTM document to PDF format. So it is not a physical printer as such and is just used to convert data to PDF format, which can be read and printed at a print shop or KINKO's. It is "Amyuni Document Converter 2.10." Lafe
Mr. Dingman, To print the entire image, you may be able to right click on the picture and save the image to a file that can then be opened and printed. In Windows XP, for example, Windows Explorer opens the file in a separate window that can be printed. I am not a Penuel Tucker researcher but I found this reference to the name in a section on the family of Thomas Abbotin Abbot, Abiel, A genealogical register of the descendants of George Abbot of Andover : George Abbot of Rowley, Thomas Abbot of Andover, Arthur Abbot of Ipswich, Robert Abbot of Branford, Ct. and George Abbot of Norwalk, Ct. Boston: James Munroe, 1847 It says that a Penuel Tucker, Pompey, NY md. Marsilva Abbot, 1796. There is quite a bit on her ancestry but nothing else on him. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Take Yahoo! Mail with you! Hello to all, I'm a long time lurker who occasionally posts, and I guess today is one of those occasions. I'm trying to tie My Andrew Jackson TUCKER into one of the Tucker lines with little success. So I'll post a rundown of what I know below. I have a little more detail and listings of his Children on my website www.ajtucker.org. Any help or leads are always appreciated! Thanks, Chuck Tucker My Andrew J was Born in either 1821 or 1823,depending on the source. His birthplace according to his Pension file was Calloway County Kentucky. His father's name was said to be George, but I have no "real" source for this. There is a George Tucker born in North Carolina living in Marshall County, Ky(Formed from Calloway) in the 1850 Census. This is the same county where his Wife Elizabeth's first family is living. He marries Elizabeth Jane (SULLIVAN)Brindley in Massac County Ill 14 June 1853. She is the subject of the 1854 Divorce decree of Elijah Brindley Marshall County, Kentucky that states "within the last twelve months the said Betsey Jane Brindley has totally abandoned your Orator (Elijah Brindley) and commenced living in adultery with one Jackson Tucker in the State of Illinois." She apparently dies sometime before he Marries Paulina WALKER in the latter half of 1854 in Johnson County, IL. AJ and Paulina are living in Wilson County Tenn as of the 1860 Census, in Tucker's Crossroads, a few doors down from Jarratt Tucker, who is apparently the Son of Green Tucker. Anyone know anything about Jarratt? AJ serves in the Union 4th Tennessee Mounted Infantry for a few months and contracts rhuematism. Aj and Family move on to Schuyler County Missouri for the 1870 and 1880 Censuses Aj is in Christian County for the 1900 Census. Aj is living in Caddo County, Ok for the 1910 Census 1913 AJ died at the home of his daughter in Christian County Missouri and is buried in Payne Cemetery.

Hi Lafe and all you fellow listers. I haven't posted in a while because I am just getting nowhere! I have very little to go on and I have been trying to start in Horry County, SC where my John Tucker died 4 Nov. 1883 and work backwards. Here is what I know: John Tucker was born in England 3 April 1836. He was married (first, as far as I know), to Sarah Jane Tindal (or Tindall) who was born 1842-1845 to Solomon Tindall and Elizabeth Parker Tindall. Sarah died in 1872. John and Sarah had 2 daughters, Mary Comella Tucker and Rebecca Jane Tucker. John was a Confederate Officer, enlisting at Britton's Neck, SC. He was wounded at Morris Island and discharged from the 27th SC Vol. Infantry as a Private. He married again to Mary Jane Todd, daughter of Joseph Jackson Todd and Mary Elizure Hardee of Horry County, SC. Mary Jane and John had 2 children that I know of: Nathaniel Claude Tucker and Joseph Rollins Tucker. I descend from Nathaniel Claude Tucker and his wife, Mary Ann Gore, who were also native to Horry County. It seems like a lot of information, but I have been digging for 2 years and I am really stuck. I don't seem to be related to any of the Tucker clan in SC, because John Tucker arrived between 1836 and 1862 when he enlisted in the Confederacy and the other Tuckers I have run across seem to have been born here. Any suggestions? Or does anyone have a Tucker Bible they would be willing to look at for me? Jeannie
I guess we're all "Tuckered out", if you will pardon the expression!
The Tucker list has been very quiet lately. Lafe
