    3. Pauline, Glad to see that you are back!! I think I sent you the tax list info a long time ago. I am interested in the Christian Co. KY connection. Your James B. Tucker was born there in 1815. I also have a James B. Tucker who was born in KY (MAYBE Jefferson Co.) circa 1816. And, there was an Aaron Tucker who was in Christian Co. KY in 1820. We have debated with ourselves if this is our Aaron or if our Aaron is the one that was in Franklin Co. AL in 1820 and still there in 1822 and 1823. We settled on the AL Aaron because he had a daughter, Matilda, who was born in AL circa 1822/23. Some of the ages in the KY Aaron's household don't fit either. But, I am curious about the Aaron in Christian Co. KY and curious about your James B., since I also have one who is about the same age. I know that they are NOT the same James B. Tucker, but the similarities of region and associated given names is very interesting indeed. Further, there was an Edward Tucker who appeared in Rowan Co. NC on the same census records as our Aaron. I don't remember if it was the 1800, or the 1810 census. I will have to check. Was your Edward ever in NC prior to/after VA? A lot of VA Tuckers were in NC. 2. Joan, Ernest is a fairly common name in my line of Tuckers in the mid to late 1800's to 1920's, but no further that I know of, but I do not have up to date data on many lines. Has anyone got any information on an Elmer Tucker who used to give long genealogy talks tracing his line of Tuckers (and apparently Mine) back to Jamestown at large Tucker reunions held in the late 1920's and 1930's in the Winston-Salem, NC area. My Grandparents attended several of these with many family members (all deceased now). I have some faded and difficult to read notes from Elmer Tucker's presentation in 1935. I would like to find out who he was and where his information may be. Can anyone help? Thanks, Houston Tucker

    3. Looking for Ernest Tucker, husband of Verlie Mary Elizabeth Bailey b. Oct 27, 1932 who was most likely born in Summertown, Lawrence Co, TN. Verlie's parents, Frank Boyd Bailey and Willie Andrews are found in the 1930 Lawrence Co census, and died in Summertown, Lawrence Co, TN. If Verlie did not move far, she should have been married in Lawrence Co, maybe Summertown (or Maury Co, Lewis Co, or Giles Co), all in TN, on Aug 7, 1955. Again, her husband being Ernest Tucker b. Feb 5, 1932. Children of Verlie and Ernest are Donna Lynne Tucker Fletcher, Patrick Alan Tucker, Lori Ann Tucker Ferguson, Sherry Diane Tucker King, and Micah Ernest Tucker. I have Tuckers from Randolph Co, NC who moved to Lawrence Co, TN (Martha Ann Tucker b. Dec 24, 1814). I am trying to find out if the 2 Tucker families are in any way related. There are family rumors that my Tennessee Tucker ancestor was a spy in the Civil War. No idea which side! Nothing concrete and he wasn't a veteran that I know of...just a rumor in one part of the family. Everything abt my Elijah Grundy Tucker b. in 1832 is a mystery really! He was born either in TN or NC - AND was missed in the 1850 census to make things worse. I have several theories on his ancestry but no concrete proof. Does anyone know how I could find out if he really WAS a spy? Who would I contact? Thanks, Mary, in Cumberland Co., TN -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. Children Donna Lynne Tucker Fletcher, Patrick Alan Tucker, Lori Ann Tucker Ferguson, Sherry Diane Tucker King, Micah Ernest Tucker. If I can get before 1930, I can check the census. I am wondering which line of Tucker's they come from. I am wondering if they are descendants of Robert Tucker (abt 1652, Charles City Co, VA) and Elizabeth Coleman (abt 1690, Charles City Co, VA). 3. Martha, I had to laugh when I saw my name listed in your family tree. It wasn't me, just someone else born with the exact same name! Too funny. I was searching as my Tucker line stayed in Maryland. I have my line back to 1798, where I am at a total brick wall. Wish there had been a connection! 3. Hi, In order to help you, we need to know the following (using the info that you have given us) 1. WHERE was he married? 2. WHERE do YOU know of the family living? 3. To get all the way back from the 1930's to the 1600's takes one step at a time and it begins with what you already know. And, generally, we know more than we think we do :) Joan --- Dave or Sharon <baileds@netzero.net> wrote: > > > I am wondering if anyone knows an Ernest Tucker b. > Feb 2, 1932, m. 3. Can we get more information on William Tucker? (What county and state? was he a native Virginian on an immigrant?) Any brothers or sisters of William Tucker?.... See the narative re my 1700 Tuckers in VA: ³Many years ago my grandmother wrote a brief statement of her ancestry. According to her account: A John Gregory came to Virginia from Ireland. His son John Gregory was born in Virginia and married Sally Tucker. This couple is buried near Nelson Courthouse, Va. Their son was another John Gregory. He served with General Wayne in the Northwest campaign in the 1790's. After his return he married Elizabeth Turner, daughter of Major Henry Turner. this couple is buried in Sumner County, Tennessee. Their son was George Gregory. He married Mary Ann Earl. Their son was George H. Gregory. He graduated from the University of North Carolina and served in the Confederate Army, capturing a prisoner at the Battle of Big Bethel, at the outset of the Civil War. He had married Emily Mullen of Perquimans County, NC in about 1860. Within a day or two after Big Bethel, George received word that Emily had given birth to their first child, a daughter. George telegraphed a reply instructing that her middle name was to be "Hampton," in honor of the site of the battle. Hence my great-grandmother's name was Kate Hampton Gregory.² Could your william be a brother of my Sally's father or grandfather? Thanks, A.
