Hi Loney, I'm sure he did but I don't know who they are. How we wish they had named children on early census records. My Madison (son of William) married at Shady Dale, GA in Jasper County. I know some of these Tucker's are related but just how to prove it. Any ideas?? Hi Leonard, The information I have from the LDS site was the lineage of Thomas Tucker and Elizabeth Ashmore. My William Tucker was born 1783, Jasper County, Georgia and died in 1865. So many William's around that it makes research difficult to say the least. Thanks for your reply and I wish luck for us both in our genealogy. Am searching for the family of gggrandfather SILAS B. TUCKER, born July 27, 1800 in Tennessee and died June 27, 1863 in Smyrna, Rutherford County, TN. He was married to MALISSA ASCENITH BOWMAN on October 14, 1829 in Rutherford County, Tennessee. They had two children: SUSAN M. TUCKER born 1831 & my grandmother, CAROLINE (CARRIE) ALMIRA TUCKER born December 14, 1809. After Malissa's death on April 22, 1833, Silas was married two more times. Family information gives his father as WILLIAM TUCKER, whose probable birthplace was North Carolina & who died on the Natchez Trace, Mississippi abt. 1815. (There's that name of William again!) His mother was SUSANNAH HAMPTON of South Carolina. Not much to go on. Does any of this ring a bell with anyone out there? Harriet Darling

TUCKER who married my Gr. Aunt, MARTHA ELLEN CHAPMAN, in Hill Cnty., TX, Nov. 1, 1877. I have the 1860 census which lists a Tucker family in White Oak, Franklin Cnty., AR, with one George R. Tucker as the youngest child of 6 yrs. in 1860. Cannot determine if this George Tucker is Martha Ellen's husband as I have found no documentation where his first wife is listed. You probably already know but the Tucker Family in Franklin county did migrate to Red River County, TX, but some reports indicate they returned to AR. Here is the 1860 Tucker listing in Franklin Cnty. > > WM Tucker, 55, b. 1804, TN > Catharine Tucker, 45, b. 1814, TN > John R. Tucker, 19, b. 1840, TX (odd he was only one b. in TX) > Lorenza D. I just thought that I'd add a little more information on whom I suspect is my Benjamin's father. According to the Orphan's court records a Benjamin Wells, Jr. was assigned as guardian for my Benjamin and an Anne E. Tucker. Looking at marriage records there is a marriage record of a Thomas Tucker to an Onera Wells, but this Thomas is not old enough to be Benjamin's father and the marriage took place in 1806 - after my Benjamin was born. I also know that in Virginia there was a court case filed again the minor children of Thomas Tucker by the older children to sell off their father's estate. The list of minor children includes my Benjamin and Anne. There are two other marriages in Anne Arrundel County for Thomas Tucker. It inidicates that Thomas and an Anna Hooper are the most likely candidates for my Benjamin's parents, but I still have no direct proof. Can anyone add anything to this information? Still looking for parents of my James A. Tucker born December 2, 1835 in Tennessee died August 30, 1911 in Joplin, Missouri, buried in Jonesboro, Arkansas. I've never been able to find him before the 1860 census in Tippah Co, Mississippi. And his son William M. Tucker b 1865 Mississippi (married a Lula Broadaway) died after 1930 probably in Dallas, Texas. Haven't been able to find out what happened to William or his children Joyce Tucker b 1897; George D b 1900; Helen b 1910 You almost want to give up finding them when there seems to be a million William Tuckers and of course James Tucker is right up there as another poplar name. My roadblock is a William Tucker who first shows up in Monroe Co. Ga. 1820-30. There were two Williams in that county which confuses things of course but one stays there through all the censusesthrough 1870 and there are records for him. My william left Georgia and with his family is in Tallapoosa Co. Al. 1840 till his death mid 1850's. Need parents, wife and birthplace. Have the names of children from legal transactions after his death. There was an Elizabeth, Lucy, John, William, Coleman, Jefferson and several others. No notes in front of me. Coleman moved to Union Parish La. where he served in Confederate Army and upon return married and raised his family. His brother Alexander also came into La. several years later. Any help anyone? Brenda
