Tammy I am sorry I had you mixed up .There is a Tammy.Roberts @ home.com also a tammyroberts @att.net.I had tried to reach both of them as they had posted some info on some of my family. Again sorry. There must be several Tammy Roberts out there. Pat
'Pioneers of the Wiregrass' by Judge Folks Huxford. and 'The Descendants of William Tucker of Throwleigh, Devon' by Robert Dennard Tucker. are pretty good references but still have some mistakes. My understanding is that RD Tucker is quite wealthy and had the genealogy done for him. Lafe
Two books may give additional insight to the Tuckers from Devon, England. The Descendants of William Tucker of Throwleigh, Devon by Robert Dennard Tucker. and Pioneers of the Wiregrass by Judge Huxford. Lafe

Heather: My father was a Tucker who lived in Howell at the time of his death in 1959. I doubt that he had anything to do with your family, but curiosity got the best of me. My Albert was born 1887 in Louisville, Ky. His father, Albert C Tucker was born in Graves Co Ky in 1852,and then his father, Nathan Tucker was born In Connecticut in 1801, and there is my brickwall. Well it's a new year and I will again, ever hopeful, try to find someone who may connect to my Tuckers. I am happy to share any information I have, and appreciate any thing anyone has to offer! My earliest known is THOMAS TUCKER, b. ca 1776. He may have been an only child. His children disagree about whether he was born in MD or VA, but we know he was in Shelby County KY (now Spencer county) by 1808. He may have been an only child. We believe he was married twice, possibly to a MARY SMALLWOOD (unconfirmed) and later to ELIZABETH, b. ca 1782, whose last name we can't find. There is some connection to the SNIDER-GOODWINE families, since there was a gift of about 100 acres to Thomas in 1819 from James and Elizabeth Snider Goodwine. The land belonged to Elizabeth. Here are the names: 1.....Thomas TUCKER, b. ca 1776 MD or VA; d. 1848 Spencer County KY ......+Mary Catherine SMALLWOOD (unconfirmed) ......+Elizabeth ? (b. ca 1782 MD; d. 1864, Spencer County KY. ......2.....Hezekiah TUCKER, b. 1800 VA; d. 1863, Spencer county KY ............+Ruth HOWARD ............+Martha STOUT ............+Mary REASOR ......2....Mary "Polly" TUCKER, b. 1803 VA; d. after 1880, Jefferson County, KY ............+William T. PARIS, b. 1798; d. 1887 ......2....William TUCKER, b. ca 1804 VA; d. bet. 1850-1855, Bullitt County KY ............+Anna SHAW ......2....Hazael TUCKER, b. 1806 VA; d. 1875 Jefferson County KY ............+Nancy Jane COOPER ......2....Elijah TUCKER, b. 1808 KY; d. 1848 Jefferson County KY ............+Sarah D. "Sallie" STONE ......2....Caleb TUCKER, b. ca 1811 KY; d. ca 1874 Union County KY ...........+Matilda STONE ......2....Perlina Emma TUCKER, b. ca 1814 KY; d. 1836 Jefferson County KY ...........+Stephen BRIDWELL ......2...Nelson T. TUCKER, b. 1816 KY; d. 1881 Union County KY ...........+Margaret SEATON ......2...Lucinda TUCKER, b. ca 1818 KY; d. 1872, Jefferson County KY ..........+Stephen BRIDWELL ......2...Malinda TUCKER, b. 1820 KY; d. 1843 Jefferson County KY ...........+Joseph Presley BRIDWELL Any connections or thoughts, email me! Happy New Year! Vicki Mitchell Tampa, FL
Hi Pat, Thanks for sharing the copy of the picture of Pascal Goodwin Tucker. There are many resemblances to my ggg-gf, Hazael Tucker (whose picture is posted at http://www.ancientfaces.com if you're interested). They have the same long chin, square face, high forehead, and hairline . . . though my picture was taken when Hazael (b. 1803) was much older than your Pascal. I am most interested, however, in the Goodwin(e) connection. I know my Tucker family is somehow related to the Goodwine family, since James Goodwine and his wife Elizabeth Snider Goodwine gave 100 acres to Hazael's father, Thomas, in 1819. I have not yet been able to find any connection. My earliest known Tucker is Thomas, b. ca 1775, probably in MD. He was in Shelby County KY by 1808, and I believe spent a good bit of time in Virginia (Culpeper?) before moving to KY. We think he was married twice, once to a Mary Smallwood, and once to Elizabeth whose last name is unknown to us (b. ca 1784). Can you tell me more about your Tucker-Goodwin connection . . . if you know? Nancy Try http://tooker.org/index.shtml Hope it helps. - - - Paul A. Horton Sr. (GrGrGrGrandson of Betsy Tucker Horton b. Hartford CT 1803 d.Concord,Lake Co.OH Jan.1894)
There is a Greene Tucker buried in the Old Tucker Cemetery in Macon, GA. He was born December 25, 1816 and died May 30, 1896. Mary Roquemore, wife of Greene Tucker is buried next to him. She was born December 4, 1824 and died August 4, 1903. I don't know if this Greene has any ties to Pleasant Green or not, so this is just a bit of information for you. The Rockdale County GenWeb site has a list of Tuckers buried in the county. A Pleasant Greene Tucker was not listed in that particular directory. The following is a repeat of something I posted several months ago about the Old Tucker Cemetery. OLD TUCKER CEMETERY MACON, GA ESTABLISHED 1825 The following list of names is taken from headstone photographs which I took at this cemetery on April 19, 2001. Also in this cemetery are an unknown number of graves with no headstone. Please note that this is not a complete record for this cemetery. There are a few graves with headstones that I did not photograph, as I ran out of film. Also, I estimate that there are at least 10 or 15 unlabelled graves located here and I made no effort to count them. Piles of rocks or bricks or rows of bricks, sometimes a mosaic of bricks often mark the position of the unlabelled graves. Though this cemetery was established in 1825, only a few of the older graves had markers with names on them. There may be a good cemetery record for this Old Tucker Cemetery in one of the libraries somewhere, which could identify the others buried here. If so, I should like to know about it. Meanwhile, this list may be of benefit to someone. Please note that I do not guarantee the accuracy of this list, but I think I exercised reasonable caution in listing these names.
