The annual Mother's Day Reunion will be held Sunday, May 12, 2002 at the Fairview Church of Christ on Tucker Road in North Crenshaw Co. AL. Descendants of Hiram & Catherine Hendry Tucker as well as the descendants of their neighbors are encouraged to come, bring a basket lunch and fellowship with your cousins and friends. A short service will be held in the church at 11:00 and dinner will follow. I hope to see you there, Wynnette Tucker Welch
Mr. Nesbit do you keep a record of the reunion attendees' ancestors who are being researched, or is it primarily John Ruffin Tucker? How I would like to be there; however Dallas is a bit far at the moment (following cataract surgery). Have John Tucker in Lincoln Co & son Nicholas Iler Tucker mar. Rosanna Dickson; Robert in Amelia Co., VA. Thanks for posting your reunion. ----- Original Message ----- From: Charles L. Hi, Kathy, I have a "brick wall" ancestor, Peter Joseph Tucker, born around 1864 supposedly in Rochester, NY (but that's what's listed on his own marriage license and he could've been misinformed). Parents were Peter Joseph Tucker, Sr., and Margaret Ormsby. Peter Jr. was raised in Philadelphia by his aunt and uncle, Ann and Anthony Corcoran. Census records informative, but not conclusive. Hi folks, I apologize for the message I just sent. I should have looked before I sent it. It was meant for Lynda Thompson. However, should anyone have any information on Benjamin and Chloe (George) Tucker's children of Dryden, Tompkins Co., NY, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks, Kathy Tucker Leigh _________________________________________________________________ Join the worlds largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com
Hi Lynda, Last summer, you had answered me on Harvey Tucker. I have looked everwhere that I have access to and still cannot find any documentation. Do you have a list of Benjamin's children with dates etc? If you would be willing to share information, I'd greatly appreciate it. I live in CO and it just makes it difficult to acquire records. I had sent to Tompkins County the end of January, for birth records for my later ancestors but as of today, I still haven't heard anything. Still struggling with my research! Does anyone have information on a Daniel Tucker b.1780 d.1863. It is believed that he was born in NC or VA (beats me), he is listed in the Chesterfield county census in 1850 and is believed to be buried in a family Cemetery in Anson County, NC, near the Cason Old Fields. My information is that he had 6 sons, Woody, Thomas, Calley (Kelly), Repsey. Nevil, & Daniel. Any information on where he was born or how to find any records please don't hesitate. Nancy Tucker, daughter of George Tucker, Sr., was born May 22, 1781 in Wilkes County, GA and died June 5, 1857 in Lafayette County, MS. She married Uriah Taylor in GA. Their daughter, Elizabeth Ann Taylor married William Leverett Tucker, her first cousin. He was the son of Simeon and Nancy Dunn Tucker. They are both buried at Soules Chapel Cemetery in Upshur County, TX. I do not see a Joel Tucker in my family list. I descend from George Tucker, Jr. Carol
Don't know whether this is him or not but could be a lead. If you think so, I have more on the ancestors. Descendants of Robert Tucker, Jr. Generation No. 1 1. ROBERT3 TUCKER, JR. Seeking info on Joel Tucker married Sarah Jane "Jincy" Taylor August 25, 1833 Stewart Co. GA. Believe that Joel and Sarah were perhaps distant cousins since Sarah's grandfather was George Tucker Sr. born Amelia Co. VA. They had five children Frances, Nancy, Uriah, Martha and Sarah. Sadly none of the girls married and Uriah may have been killed at a young age in the Civil War, so the chance of their information being passed down is greatly deminished, but hopes that someone out there may have Joel in their database and can tell me who his parents were. I have a Meek and a Tucker in my genealogy but they are on different sides of family. Meeks can be found in Milam co., TX and McLennan Co., TX. My Meek was a Moses Meek that was killed by Indians in TX in 1852. My Tucker was Mary E. Tucker born in IA in 1842.
I have a Mary Ann Fowler b. @1855 TX who did not have the best luck with men. She married Robert Meek who abandoned her and baby after she had son William Meek @1874 AR. She then married Clark Thomas and had 2 children James Clark Thomas b. 1879 Searcy Co. AR and Fannie Beatrice Thomas b. @1882 then Clark Thomas died 1886 1889 Conway Co. AR she married Henry Britton. I do not think he liked her children and I THINK they were divorced right away but I have never found when or where they were divorced. She was married to a Mr. Tucker (first name unknown) and they had twins and at least one daughter survived, Mary "Ethel" Tucker born @1892 AR. There was a Bur. Land Mgmt. Deed to a Mary A. Tucker with note it was formerly Mary A. Thomas dated Sep. 1, 1893 Lafayette Co., AR for 80 acres but I do not know if this was MY Mary Ann Tucker. I thought she may have annulled her marriage to Britton and taken her last name of Thomas back because she had two Thomas children. This is near areas she had lived in TX and AR. 1910 Mary Ann is shown as a widow in Ada, Pontotoc Co. OK. running a hotel with her daughter, Fannie Beatrice Thomas Talley and son in law, William Talley. This Mary Ann moved around as often as her parents had and I would really like to locate her on the 1900 Census. All her family played fast and loose with places and dates of birth. They often put the last place lived as place of birth and their ages could vary 5 years in adults. Any help on locating Mary Ann on the 1900 Census would be appreciated. I do not know the first name of Mr. Tucker. I will list the possible ages of her children and Mary Ann. Mary Ann Tucker would be 45 TX William Meek 26 AR (if he was around) James Clark Thomas 21 AR (if he was around) Fannie Beatrice Thomas 18 AR Ethel Tucker 8 AR There may have been more, she lost several children. Only 2 survived her death. Any help on this family would really be appreciated. Thanks for your time. Charlene
