I found a Cornelius Tucker b. bef. 1819 on 7-6-1840 Van Buren Co TN. He is listed as a work hand on the Rd. along with Hezikiah Mooneyham, Wm Evans, and Jonathan Simmons. Some of these surnames are mine as well and they are very near the White Co and Bledsoe Co TN lines... Could he be the Cornelius Tucker b. ABT. 1819 in NC son of Jesse TUCKER b.14 MAY 1785 in Randolph Co. NC? He's the right age... If anyone has info on him I would like to rule him out as yet another possible son of G.W. Tucker or brother to my Elijah Tucker b. in 1832 :-) Mary Mary

Carrie, Believe one of my Grandfathers and his brother were from Salisbury, Mass.; so the story goes. Not sure about RI. When I return from my sons wedding and several graduations, I'll check my records. Thanks. Sue Innes

Hi Robert, Sorry, but you are speaking about the whole Cumberland Mt. range which runs into the AL. I was talking about a specific mountain named Cumberland here in Cumberland Co. TN. It only reaches into the corners of Bledsoe, Van Buren and White Co's where the Tuckers were all found in early records. Good luck! Mary
forwarded...... ---------- From: [email protected] Date: Sun, 9 Jun 2002 14:31:05 -0600 To: [email protected] Subject: subscribe I am researching line of Rhoda Smith and Jesse Tucker. They has a son Alfred Smith Tucker in 1810 SC. Jesse is said to have died by 1820. Alfred was bonded out to a Mr Jones for a short time. Alfred can be found in 1830-1840 in Anderson Co SC then to Franklin Co GA 1850 and from 1860 census until his death in Indiana (Shelby Co). Rhoda later married John B McMillian. They are in Franklin Co GA 1840. Rhoda reappears as Rhoda McMillion living with Alfred in 1860 in Shelby Co IN. Can anyone tell me about Jesse Tucker?? or this line??
I saw your on the Tuckers. Tucker is my great-grandmother on my father's side and she is from IA. However, you mentioned Cumberland Mt. and TN. I have just been to this area in AL. Mary, I don't have an age of the William C. Tucker from Dickson County, TN. I just have the land record. Apparently, he had several land transactions in Dickson County. The clerk that sent me the land record wrote on the back several other land books with page numbers etc. I didn't get all of those. I probably should have, but I found out he wasn't the William C. that I was searching for. Anyway, just thought that he might tie in with those in White County. I have a James Tucker, b 1830 or 1833. Have no idea who his family is. He supposedly came to Fl from Ky and supposedly is Irish or Scottish. From 1855 he lived in Fl until his death in the 1880's. He had one known sister, Catherine, who also moved to Fl. There is a connection to the name Delaney as a cousin. Do not know if that is a given or surname. He named one of his sons Delaney after this cousin. There is a James Tucker in Campbell County Ky on the 1850 census living in a household with 2 others, amid other surrounding households from Ireland. In the early 1980's, according to a genealogist, this particular household had not been identified with any other Tucker families. Possibly by now it has. Can anyone shed any light? Talk about a brick wall!!! Thank you so much. Gloria Olson
A Paskel Tucker b. 1825 TN is listed in the 1850 Grainger Co TN census. Wife Rhoda b. 1827.... there is a John Tucker there b. 1790 in VA. Also, a widow Elizabeth Tucker b. abt 1795 TN. Is your Paskel Tucker? Mary
Mary of Cumberland and Betty Yes, I have documentation from census and Methodist Archives on Clinton TUCKER b. 1789 Lincoln Co NC. He was in Warren Co TN 1835 at Mt. Vernon Methodist Episcopal Church as a Preacher. This church is located on the very eastern border of Warren Co near White Co and Van Burren Co. He is still there on the 1870 census. I do not have his exact date of death but around 1872. He and Rebecca were also in Limestone Co AL in the early 1830's also documented by the church and census. As to MUNDAYS or MONDAYS, Rebecca had 11 brothers and sisters. Some of which migrated from Lincoln Co NC into TN. If you have names I can verify since I have all her siblings and their spouses names and dates. Would be glad to share with you. Samuel TUCKER of Lincoln Co NC fits the time frame to be Clinton TUCKER b. 1789 father. But I have no proof. Actually he is the only one on census records that fit the time and place to be related to Clinton. George TUCKER is listed as bondsman for Clinton and Rebecca's marriage in Tryon Co NC 1789's Clinton's youngest son, my ggreatgrandfather, Clinton Monroe W. TUCKER m. Mary Ann V. DOYLE. I have a stack of DOYLE info. Thanks for your time and I still want 1789 Clinton's parents or siblings. Would anyone know who Eletia Tucker was? She first shows up on the 1820 Henry Co KY census, so she possibly could be a widow. She is also on the 1830 Henry Co census, next door to a James Tucker; and I can't find her after 1830. She may be the key to one of my big brick walls, so any information would be appreciated. My theory is she could be the mother of either or both Jacob Tucker, b.1808 of Henry and Oldham, and John Wesley Tucker, b.1811 of Henry and Oldham Co. Still working on those Tuckers of Henry and Oldham Co. KY :) Roxanne Lake [email protected]

NC very early on. They have credited him with numerous children. Among those is a George Jr. and a William. George Jr. also had a son, George and William had a son George. This family is known to have migrated into TN. I, for one, think that the George of White Co. TN is the son of one of the sons of George of Cabarrus. email: I don't know if our George Tuckers are the same, but the dates could be about right. My GGGG Grandfather, George Tucker died before 4 Mar 1825, when his will was entered for probate. I have a list of 9 children for him, and 8 step-children. My George died in Wilson Co., TN. I don't know when or where he was born. (Bill Kerr)" The George Tucker of White Co TN died there bet 1840-1850. I recently found a early record in Bledsoe Co TN of a George Tucker divorce. Neither party was actually from Bledsoe Co... I'll have to dig it out when I get time. Mary

Hi Carol, Do you have a deed or other record that places him in an exact Dist. or area in Warren Co.? Was it near the Robert Tucker b. 1750 in MD and died Abt. 1837 in Warren Co? Did he live near the Bledsoe and White Co lines? If we could share our info here it would save a lot of time searching all over the net :-) There is a Tucker Knob located in Bledsoe Co near the Warren Co line... Were any of your Mondays connected to the Bledsoe Co Mondays? Mary
