    1. [TUCKER-L] Re:Achellis Tucker WV/VA
    2. This is going to be a long post so please bear with me. :-) I'm trying to find info on Achellis ("Kellis") Tucker, born July 1829, married Lucy Ann Gardner on July 11, 1850 in Kanawha County, VA. They had possibly 11 children. I say possibly because there may be a few discrepancies. This is what I have: Leah Ann b. Feb 25, 1853, married William Woodrum on Aug. 12, 1877 and died Jan. 11, 1923; *my direct line* Virginia A b. ca 1853/53; Chloe A. b. ca 1853/54; Warren/Owen b. ca.1856, married Almedia Poore; Melvina b. ca. 1857, married William Arthur on Aug. 15, 1875; Mary F. b. ca 1858; William A. b. ca 1860, married Hannah Isabella Woodrum on Dec. 3, 1882; Richard b. ca 1862; Emily b. ca 1865; Kellis b. ca 1870; Fannie b. ca 1871. Now part of the problem is the 1870 census shows a Calvin Tucker married to Lucinda with same children, plus some. And, children with the last name of Kellis are living with them. Some of these children are listed as "M" for Mulatto or "B" for Black. It was rumored that Leah was a full-blooded Indian. But she's listed as white. Does anyone have these people in their line and/or can help me straighten out these Tuckers? Any help would be appreciated.
