Bluefield Daily Telegraph (WV) - September 18, 2011 Deceased Name: Sammie David Miller BLAND, Va. — Sammie David Miller, 75, of Bland, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 18, 2011 at his home with his family by his side. He was born on September 25, 1935 at Bland County, Va., the son of the late Earl Jordan and Evelyn Agee Miller. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheila Jean Miller; a brother, Emory Earl Miller. Sammie was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and an Army veteran who served during the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Pearl Blankenship Miller, Bland; one son, Christopher Miller, Bland; one daughter, Melissa Miller, Bland; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate with the Reverend Danny Shortridge officiating. Burial in the Salem Cemetery, Bland. Visitation will be Monday, September 19, 2011 after 2:00 p.m., and the family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
